It was a great way to kick off the holiday season. Due to a schedule change, progress reports will be distributed on Tuesday, December 11. Conferences will be held on Thursday, December 13 from 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm. The sign-up links can be found below. St. John Parish will be hosting a Christmas Extravaganza on December 8 starting with a Children’s Liturgy at 5:00 pm. See the attached flyer for the many activities that are included. All are welcome to attend. Information about our Christmas program on Thursday, December 20 is included in the update. Once again we plan to live stream our dress rehearsal for family and friends unable to attend. Sunday marks the first week of Advent. Dear St. John Families,

Thank you to Mrs. Turnbull, Ms. Kruk, Ms. Hartsoe,

Mrs. Phillips, Mrs. Robertson, and all the many

volunteers who made the Mistletoe Market a success.

It was a great way to kick off the holiday season.

Due to a schedule change, progress reports will be

distributed on Tuesday, December 11. Conferences

will be held on Thursday, December 13 from 4:30 pm

to 7:30 pm. The sign-up links can be found below.

St. John Parish will be hosting a Christmas

Extravaganza on December 8 starting with a

Children’s Liturgy at 5:00 pm. See the attached flyer

Breakfast with Santa

Our annual Breakfast with Santa will be held

tomorrow, Saturday, December 1 from 8:00 am –

11:00 am. Volunteers are still needed to make this

event a success. We hope to see you there!

What’s Purple Friday?

On designated Fridays or Thursdays students may

wear Ravens jerseys, shirts, or colors with their gym

shorts or gym pants and tennis shoes for a donation

of 50 cents. The SJE Student Council will choose a

charity that will receive the proceeds. Students also

may wear purple and /or black socks, ribbons,

bows, and jewelry. The dates are marked on the

website calendar and highlighted in the weekly

update. Our next Purple Day will be on Friday,

December 14.

What’s Spirit Day?

Once a month on the Tuesday that we have our

pizza lunch in the Church Hall, we also have a

special spirit day. Our student council chooses a

theme, and students can wear t-shirts, socks, and

hair accessories reflective of that theme with their

gym pants and tennis shoes. Our next SJE Spirit

Day is Tuesday, December 18, and no donation is

required.

Volunteering and VIRTUS

Now is the time to complete your requirements so

you are ready to volunteer and participate in

activities for the school year. If you want to

volunteer and/or attend field trips, Spring Fling,

and Olympic Day, you must be current with the

VIRTUS screening and training. Complete or

update your certification easily online at

http://www.virtusonline.org/virtus/. Please contact

you have any questions.

Parent/Teacher Conference Links

Parent and teacher conferences will be held on

December 13 from 4:30 pm- 7:30 pm. There are

signup links below. Each time slot is for10 minutes.

If you need additional time, please schedule a

meeting with the teacher on another date so they

can give you the additional time you need.

Parents are asked to kindly adhere to the schedule

on that night since many parents are meeting with

multiple teachers. Your cooperation is greatly

appreciated.

Inclement Weather Policy

In the event of bad weather, the school office will send

phone, text, and e-mail messages to parents as well as

posting it on our website announcing any closings or

delays. Because of Saint John School's proximity to

Harford County, we will follow the guidelines of

Baltimore County or Harford County in the event of

early dismissal/delayed opening or school closure in

either county due to severe weather.

When Baltimore County and/or Harford County

announce:

One Hour Late Opening

Morning Pre-K 3 & 4 arrive 9:20 AM and dismiss at 11:45

AM.

All day Pre-K - 8 arrive at 9:20 AM and dismiss at 3:00

PM.

Two Hour Late Opening

Morning Pre-K 3 & 4 arrive at 10:20 AM and dismiss at

12:15 PM.
