Making clothes has got to be one of the most exciting avenues for my creativity. I am so into it! I love the whole process from dreaming up colors, making batik stamps, sketching outfits, dying fabrics, cutting and sewing, and even the folding and packaging. It is so rewarding to follow an idea from the sketchpad to the shipping box.

The next step is making the garment come alive. After weeks of samples, to finally see a model in the finished garment is

exhilarating. At this point “all the parts” have come together like a canvas, and my total vision for just one fashion becomes reality. I get that tingling feeling you get when you have experienced something great.

But in fact, the real pleasure in designing plus size clothing is “you”. I feel electric inside when orders come in for my new Collections. I say to myself, “I got it right!” and “I made someone happy”. It’s an emotional journey for me knowing that I created a garment that brings to it dignity, beauty and self-confidence. And I want to keep feeling that in all the Collections I produce. I want you to have what you deserve: great clothing!

Inside the Collections catalog, I tried to create more roomy fashions. I lengthened the width at the arm muscle, increased the width at the hip, pleated excess fabric at the armhole, and extended the length of tops from 3x-5x.

In addition to creating more roomy fashions, I have designed the most dresses to date. Two of the dresses feature hidden elastic which can expand up to 2 inches on both sides (a good choice when you are in between sizes). The other dresses vary in length and neckline. My two favorites are Class Act and On-or-Off Shoulder Smock Dress. My vision for these dresses was right on target. And when Monika modeled them that “tingling feeling” electrified my entire soul.

Wow! This was my first time modeling and I LOVED IT! You need a bit of confidence to do it, but once you trust yourself, it is very fun.

When I met Stephen in Bali, I was a little unsure if I wanted to do this. However, the more we talked and the more he showed me his fashions, I knew I wanted to be a part of something great. I thought I could inspire women of larger sizes by modeling his clothes. I wanted to show women that you can look wonderful and feel comfortable at the same time.

Of the clothing I modeled, I especially liked the On-or-Off Shoulder Smock Dress. I loved the idea that I can wear the neckline down for a sexy look or up for a more formal occasion. Also the sleeveless v-neck dress (Black Dress on the Go!) is a very practical design. On one hand you can wear it to the office, and then at night you can dress it up. You know selecting your accessories sets a tone. It is a visual message showing how you feel about yourself.

I want to thank the whole team at Generous Fashion’s photo shoot. Everyone gave me so much power, energy, and trust. They all told me I looked beautiful, and when someone says you look beautiful, it makes you feel even more beautiful.

All of our fabric is pre washed and softened before cutting and sewing. Most of our Tank Tops have a Princess Seam from the shoulder to reduce the amount of fabric under the armhole. This makes the tank slightly narrow. Check your measurements for the right fit. If you often take a 1X, with any Princess tank you maybe more comfortable in a 2X. Tanks come in either organic rayon or cotton.
