Car Rap Instructions
Title PageMATERIALSFor each book you will need:copy of Car Rap pagetemplates of large and small circles6” x 3” black construction paper2” x 4” gray or silver construction paper2 paper fasteners You will also need :Scissors, pencilsGlueMarkers or crayonsHole puncher (small hole punch is nice to have)
PROCEDURE1. Write your name on line above car. Add ‘s after your name to make it your car rap!
2. Use markers or crayons to color the car. Draw a driver in the front seat and you in the back seat.
3. Trace 2 large circles on black construction paper and cut out. Trace 2 small circles on gray construction paper and cut out.
4. Glue the gray circles in the middle of the black circles to make wheels. With a hole puncher, punch a hole in the center of the wheels and attach to the car using a paper fastener.

You will also need:pencils, scissorshole punch (small hole punch is nice)glue
PROCEDURE1. Trace template for windshield on raindrop paper. Be sure to mark the small dots on your
paper. Cut out
2. Use a hole punch to punch holes on the small dots. Punch holes in one end of each of the black strips. Attach the wipers (black strips) to the raindrop windshield.
3. Glue the windshield to the wiper page. Be careful not to glue the paper fasteners to the paper.

MATERIALSFor each book you will need:copy of door lock pagetemplate of lock3” x 8 ½” piece of colored construction paper
with slit cut for door lock4” x 1 ½” piece of black construction paper
You will also need:Pencils, scissors, exacto knife to cut slit to insert door lock (teacher prepare ahead of time)glue
PROCEDURE1. Trace around template of lock on black paper. Cut out.
2. Gently slide the small end of the lock into the slit in the 3” x 8 1/2 “ construction paper.
3. Put a dot of glue on each of the corners of the construction paper and glue to the door lock page. Be careful not to glue down the lock.
4. The door may be locked and unlocked by pushing and pulling on the end of the black paper lock.

PROCEDURE1. Using double sided tape attach one end of the 8” ribbon to the seatbelt page at point A.(see
above). Attach the 9” ribbon to the seatbelt page at point B. Use the horizontal and diagonal lines as a guide. Use double sided tape to secure the other ends of A and B together at point C.
2. Attach the gray buckle to the overlapped ends of the ribbon at point C. Attach one magnet to the underside of the buckle.
3. Use double sided tape to firmly stick the 1 ½” piece of ribbon to the page. Attach the 1 ½” by 1” gray buckle to the top of the ribbon. Attach a magnet to the top of the buckle so that it will connect to the magnet on the other buckle.

You will also need:Pencil, scissors, glueMarkers or crayons
PROCEDURE1. Color car with markers or crayons. You may add a driver to the
car if you like. Don’t forget to add the seatbelt.
2. Use a pencil to trace around the circle template on each of the yellow pieces of paper. Cut out.
3. Glue a yellow circle to each X on the car.

MATERIALSFor each book you will need:copy of radio pagemarkers or crayons
PROCEDURE1. Use markers or crayons to color the radio.
2. Add details such as the radio station call numbers and the preset numbers on the buttons. You could even draw some music notes on the paper around the radio.

PROCEDURE1. Use markers or crayons to color the car.
2. Glue the red shiny paper on the right and left rectangles to make the brake lights.
3. Glue the South Carolina license plate in the middle rectangle. Glue red paper here

PROCEDURE1. Use markers or crayons to color in the horn symbol on the
steering wheel.
2. You might want to write the words “beep beep” in the space around the steering wheel.
