LiPo Battery Warnings

IMPORTANT NOTE: Lithium Polymer batteries are significantly more volatile than the alkaline, NiCd or NiMH batteries also used in RC applications. All instructions and warnings must be followed exactly to prevent property damage and/or personal injury as mishandling of LiPo batteries can result in fire.

By handling, charging or using the included LiPo battery you assume all risks associated with LiPo batteries. If you do not agree with these conditions please return the complete product in new, unused condition to the place of purchase immediately.Although the 1200mAh 2‐Cell/2S 7.4V 25C LiPo Battery (AZSZ2503) included with the Ethos HD/FPV is intended to be charged safely using the included 2‐Cell/2S 7.4V AC LiPo Balance Charger (AZSZ2504) you must read the following safety instructions andwarnings before handling, charging or using the LiPo battery.

Flying the Quadcopter

Some basic steps for a successful first flight• Press the Dual Rate button on the upper right corner of the trans mitter to access Low Rate (60%). • Slowly raise the throttle till the quadcopter rises off the ground.• Establish a hover at about 2‐3 feet above the ground.• Use minor throttle adjustments to maintain a stable hover.• Use the control trims to eliminate any tendency to drift.

◊ If nose of the quadcopter drifts right or left adjust the rudder trim.◊ If the quadcopter drifts forward or backward adjust the elevator trim.◊ If the quadcopter drifts right or left adjust the aileron trim.

• When the quadcopter is properly trimmed, practice a stable hover using only small inputs to control the quadcopter. • When comfortable, progress to the use of additional flight controls.• If contact with an obstacle is imminent, reduce the throttle to zero

to avoid damaging the speed controls of your quadcopter.• If you do not lower the left‐hand/throttle stick to the lowest possible position in the event of a crash it can result in damage to

the ESCs of the control unit which may require replacement.

(AFM)isactivatedbypressingthe‘AUTOFLIPMODE’buttonlocatedonthetopleft-hand‘corner’ofthetransmitter.Youwillfeela‘click’andalsohearcontinuousaudiblebeeps/tonesthatindicateyou’veactivatedAFM.

When AFM is activated you can control the timing and direction of the flip with the elevator and aileron controls on the right‐hand stick. ALSO, IT’S VERY IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT ONCE YOU MOVE THE RIGHT‐HAND STICK MORE THAN APPROXIMATELY 1/2 OF THE AVAILABLE TRAVEL IN ANY DIRECTION THE QUADCOPTER WILL AUTOMATICALLY PERFORM A FULL 360 DEGREE FLIP IN THAT DIRECTION. AS A RESULT WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU ONLY ACTIVATE AFM AFTER PLACING THE QUADCOPTER IN THE POSITION AND AT THE ALTITUDE YOU PREFER, AND AFTER ESTABLISHING A STATIONARY HOVER (later on you can experiment with ‘traveling’ flips that occur during forward/backward or left/right sideways flight but for at least the first few flips it’s best to keep them ‘stationary’).
