The cooling module is mounted on the wall.

NOTE! Make an extra check to ensure that all cou-plings are tightened, both inside and outside of thePKM, after the PKM is installed and mounted.

NOTE! Do not use the pipes as a handle.

For the Installer

PKM makes it possible to obtain passive cooling fromrock, groundwater or surface soil collectors. Whenusing a surface soil collector the quality of the groundmay limit the possibility to recover passive cooling.

The distribution system is preferably a floor system, which then becomes a cooling and heating emitter.Cooling starts when the outdoor temperature exceedsthe set temperature and is then controlled by theselected cooling curve. A room sensor, RG 10 (acces-sory), can be used to give the best comfort. The low-est permitted flow temperature should be chosen toprevent condensation precipitation.

The circulation pump only runs in cooling mode. Thefactory setting for the speed of the circulation pump isat the MAX position.

Cooling mode is activated when both the shunt andshuttle valves are open as illustrated.

In heating mode the shunt and shuttle valve areclosed as illustrated.

In cooling mode “PC” is shown on the bottom row inthe heatpump display.

When cooling has been activated, heating mode isblocked for 3 hours to prevent self-oscillation betweencooling and heating. Quick start can be set to “Yes” inmenu 9.3 to bypass the time block and activate heat-ing mode directly.

The edge board connector should be cut from thecable harness. The cable harness is then connectedfrom the terminal block (-X200) in the distribution boxin PKM 10/20 to the terminal block -X6 in FIGHTER1120 as follows:

The cable marked “1” is connected from -X200:1 to -X6:20.

The cable marked “2” is connected from -X200:2 to -X6:21.

The cable marked “3” is connected from -X200:3 to -X6:22.

The cable marked “8” is connected from -X200:5 to -X6:23.

The cable marked “7” is connected from -X200:7 to -X6:24.

Cables marked “4”, “5” and “6” are not used.

The yellow/green cable is connected between the freeearth stud in the heat pump and the earth terminal inthe distribution box.

The cable harness is connected from the terminal box(-X200) in the distribution box in PKM 10/20 to therelay card (29) as follows:

The cables from the edge board connector aremarked “1” – “6” and should be connected to -X200positions 1 – 6.

Edge board connector (-X1bA) is connected to -X1bpositions 4 – 10 on the relay card (29).

The cable marked “8” is connected from -X200:5 tothe relay card position -X1c:30.

The cable marked “7” is connected from -X200:7 tothe relay card position -X1c:36.

The yellow/green cable is connected between the freeearth stud in the heat pump and the earth terminal inthe distribution box.

When PKM is installed on a FIGHTER 1220 with FLMand pool heating, the edge board contact -X1bA mustbe removed and the cables harness from PKM is con-nected directly to position -X1b.

NOTE! The cable marked “4” is not used in this appli-cation, but must still be connected as it is voltage fed.

The following must be done so that the heat pump canstart the passive cooling.

1. Shut down the heat pump and make sure it is deen-ergised .

2. Change to the new supplied CPU-card, minimumversion 1.0.

3. The existing flow sensor (89) should be replacedwith the one fitted to PKM 10/20. Cut off the existingcables as close to the edge board connector aspossible on terminal X4 positions 15 - 16 on theEBV-card (2). Ensure that the cut cables do nottouch each other or any metal. Connect the cablesfrom the flow sensor in PKM directly to the screwterminals in the same positions. Enclosed is a 3 mextension cable for the connection between thesensor and heat pump.

4. When the room sensor (RG 10) is used, this is con-nected to the EBV-card (2) on terminal X1 positions3, 4 and 14.

Follow the instructions below to program the heatpump for operation with PKM 10/20.

1. Start the heat pump.

2. Select Service in menu 8.1.1 to gain access to allthe menus.

3. Select the lowest permitted flow temperature inmenu 2.3. This is done to prevent condensationprecipitation. The factory setting is 15 °C.

4. Select PKM in menu 9.2.16. The factory setting is“Off”.

5. Select the cooling curve in menu 2.9.1. The factorysetting is 2.

6. Select the offset for the cooling curve in menu2.9.2. The factory setting is 0.

7. Select at which outdoor temperature the coolingshould start in the menu 2.9.3. The factory setting is25 °C.

8. When RG 10 is connected, the required room tem-perature should be set using RG 10 and menu 6.0.Cooling is activated when the room temperatureexceeds the set room temperature by one degreeand that the condition in point 7 is met.
