Educator Effectiveness
Research identifies a strong link between a teacher’s professional practice and student achievement.
Research clearly identifies the effectiveness of the teacher as the single most influential factor for increasing student achievement.
Effective teaching increases student achievement and rate of learning.

President Obama promises to "recruit, prepare, retain,
and reward" teachers
Initiate new career and compensation models for teachers who take on new roles and responsibilities: mentoring instructional leadership working in hard-to-staff
schools.

Goal of Chalkboard is to raise K-12 Student Achievement.
CLASS is a teacher led initiative empowering educators and raising student achievement.
Empower educators and give them the time and tools to constantly strive for excellence for themselves and their students and be recognized and rewarded for doing so.

CLASS is Unique to each district…
Each district’s CLASS Project design looks different because each district has different student and staff needs, but every design strives to strengthen effective teaching and raise student achievement.

CLASS ProjectCreative Leadership Achieves Student
Success
The CLASS Project focuses on four components of effective teaching to increase student achievement and
teacher leadership; expanded career paths, rigorous performance evaluations, relevant professional development and
new compensation models. “A school culture of collaboration, innovation, creativity, and accountability is required to provide
our students 21st century skills. The CLASS Project is the cornerstone to our shift towards
these higher standards.” Sherwood Teacher
