I have chosen nineteen images as my inspiration (shown
above). I think, I have found a good range of images that help
represent my thoughts for this photoshoot. I have found some
student magazines that have previously been created by other
people and therefore have given me other ideas about my
magazine cover. Then I found some images of your
stereotypical students, happy, smiley, with their friends and
books. Then I found some photographed portraits, of racing
drivers such as Lewis Hamilton, Jenson Button and Aiden
Moffat all at different shot sizes to help explore what size would
be best to work with, that then gave me an idea of what a
medium close up shot is and how well it would work on a
magazine cover. Then I found some pictures of models in
particular Samantha Gilham, who is both a model and a British
Touring Car Grid Girl for the Laser Tools Racing team. This gave
me an idea on different poses and angles to photograph from,
she also holds a lot of props which allows me to get a better
idea on how many and big the props should be.
This inspiration has given me ideas on how to plan my shoot
and then carry it out.
I will get my student to hold her props and books and then look
at the camera (direct address).
I will then position her in different places and positions, to help
me see what will work best on my magazine cover.
I have noticed that a lot of these images are actually landscape
and not portrait, so I will be taking a lot landscape images
because if I do like them then I can crop them if worse come to
worst.
I feel that landscape images are easiest to work with as the
camera is not being held at an odd angle as I struggle with that
so I am going to try and take some portrait photographs but I
don’t think there will be many.
I will take as many images as I feel I need to and will only stop
when I am happy the quantity and quality of the photographs.
I only have access to one student and I feel that the most will
come from the images if she is relaxing and studying at the
same time.
