Step 1Use the Silca Easy-Scan machine to interrogate the original remote. The Easy-Scan knows more than 3000 original remotes, and will tell you if the AIR4 can be used, and which version is required (think of it like an RW4 for remotes). This will also show you if the remote is “�xed” or “rolling” so you will know straight away if an additional programing step is required.

Step 2Using a simple procedure, prepare the AIR4 by teaching it the original remote data.

If the original remote was �xed code, That’s it! The AIR4 will work immediately!

If the original remote was rolling code, then use Step 3.

Step 3Train the prepared AIR4 into the garage door receiver by following the original manufacturer’s instructions.

Air4’s easy setup will streamline your workflow, reduce inventory & allow you to create more remotes every day.

Fixed & rolling code remotesFIXED: The data on the remote does not change. An exact copy of the existing can be created.

ROLLING: The data changes every time it is used so “copying” is not possible. We must “prepare” a new remote and program it to the receiver.

Several companies sent multiple staff to the training to capitalise on growing customer enquiries. Several years ago the future of EEPROM locksmithing work may have been considered questionable due to the growing capabilities of after-market diagnostic tools. The irony is, vehicle manufacturers are also aware of after-market capabilities, motivating new immobiliser design to include ECU part replacement in a lost-all-key scenario. This has created a further reliance on EEPROM key making solutions.
