MONTHLY MEETING -- Feb 2011
Happy Valentines!!
As you all know we lost a dear member,
Elaine Hall, in January. We are honoring
Elaine with a full page in our newsletter. If you have
any pictures you would like to share please bring
them to the meeting. You will get the picture back.
Our chapter has made a donation of $100 to SBMEF
in Elaine’s memory.
Thanks to our Fashion Show committee we
are right on track with our Fashion Show scheduled
for May 7th at Shandin Hills Golf Club. Again Show
Stoppers will be providing the fashions. Our models
this year are Brenda Beeman, Debbie Boatman, Patti
French, Cheryl O’Connor, Anita Whitmore and Kandi
Jackson. Tricia Blake our Mary Kay rep will be provid-
ing makeup for our beautiful models. Please come
and support our chapter by attending the Fashion
Show with friends and family. The Scholarship applications were reviewed
by Connie Young and Faith Carter-Michaelson. They
will present their recommendations for your vote at
the February meeting. Thank you to both of you for
taking on this extra work and making it seem so
easy.
WOY applications were handed out at the
January meeting. Deadline for submission to Faith
was February 11th. The results will be presented for
your vote at the Feb. meeting.
Last month our speaker was R. J Jackson
who shared with us The Courage to Connect and
Change. She left us asking ―What can I do for you.‖
Our chapter purchased Ms. Jacksons books and CD’s
for our library. They are available for members to
check out. This month our speaker will be Robin
Allen of Necessary Nutrition. She will enlighten us on
the ―7 Nutritional Secrets for Your Heart.‖ With Feb-
ruary being National Women’s Heart Health Month
we are so lucky to have her give this presentation.
Lastly, at the February meeting we will have
a professional photographer take our pictures for our
new Resource Directory. Make sure you look your
best. A big Smile and Red would be
good color to wear since it is Heart
Health month.
Please RSVP no later than the SUNDAY prior to
the meeting.
At each General Meeting you may make your
reservation for next month.
There are no ‗standing reservations.‘
If you do not make a reservation, you will not
be guaranteed a meal.

Our Traveling ―Library‖
For the past year, I have been the Chapter Librarian. However, I have just recently actually come into possession of said library materials. They have been placed into a rolling cart and I plan to begin bringing our library to our monthly meetings so that you as members can check them out until the next meeting. There will be a sign out sheet so that we can search you out if you forget. Below is a list of the items that are currently in our library. Some of them are business related, some are more towards the self-help genre, some are health related. If you have any books or videos that you would like to donate, please feel free to bring them. Since I suspect our library could get very large—very fast, if an item is not checked out for over a year, it will no longer get the honor of being ―carted‖ around, but will still be available with prior notice. If an item is *new* to our collection, it will be designated with an asterisk to draw your attention. Happy Reading!

ADDRESS CORRECTION REQUESTED
2010-2011 Annual Theme
2010-2011 VISION
We know the Mission, but do we know the vision? This year National will share their collective thoughts on ABWA’s vision and what their hopes are for ABWA’s near and distant future. Through their messages to the member-ship, we will learn their vision of where we are headed and what actions are necessary on our part to drive ABWA’s future successes. It is our collective col-laboration that will allow ABWA’s star to shine brighter than ever as we bridge the gap and start Leading with Vision.
INVOCATION
Lord, in the quiet of this hour,
We come to Thee for wisdom and for
power,
To view Thy world through only loved-
filled eyes,
To grow in understanding, to be wise
And sure to see Thy guiding light; and
thus
To know each other as Thou knowest
us.
Amen
BENEDICTION
O Guiding Spirit, Guardian of our
days,
Be with us as we go our separate
ways.
Help us to feel those thoughts that lift
and bless,
To know a closer bond of friendliness;
To see Thy beauty always – every
day,
Translated into living – this we pray.
Amen
