Both shows were sold out far in ad- vance. The Encorez preformed an energetic song and dance show during the dinner showcase. The Encorez is a senior (55 years plus) entertainment group from all over the Inland Empire area. Based out of Highland, the Encorez has a cast of about 20 performers, some into their 90's. The Encorez visit several local retirement and convalescent homes during the year. Performing about eight to ten times a month, none of them are paid. The dona- tions that are brought in pay for equipment and supplies. According to one of the vocalists Barbra Faurot, 76 from San Bernardino, the group is con- stantly changing as older cast members leave the group and new members take their place. They hold auditions when needed. How- ever, you must be over the age 55 to be part of "The Encorez". Bob Kitson was the official MC for the program. Skip Krenz, from Highland, was the sound techni- cian, who also preformed several songs including "Rock On By". Karen Lee from Highland per- formed two songs "What I Really Meant to Say" and a duet with Skip Krenz "Jackson". Ginny Aceves from Highland danced to the "Hawaiian Wedding Dance" as Skip Krenz sang, and Ginny also did a scare crow dance skit to the tune of "If I Only Had a Brain" from the Musical "Wizard of Oz". Carmen Gallegos from Highland sang a Spanish number "Como La Flor, and a duet with John Rozzie "Looking Through the Eyes of Love". Faurot performed two mu- sical numbers, "Unchained Melody", and a very sexy baroque showgirl number "Whatever Lola Wants"! John Rozzi of Highland, preformed a solo song "Almost Like Being in Love". Richard Kaminski from San Bernardino, preformed two songs, including "In the Jail House Now", and "Volare". Bob Harvey from Highland, a re- tired UCLA professor, sang two songs "These Foolish Things Re- mind Me of You", and "City of New Orleans". Juanita Clarett from San Bernardino performed a very sexy jazzy number "My Dearest Dar- ling" and "Respect". Mando Vasques performed two songs from "Your Cheating Heart" and "Hey Good Looking". Carlos Morales preformed two song for the group "What a Difference a Day Makes", and "Blue Burry Hill". The entire cast was gathered for one final bow at the end of the pro- gram. During the program, Faurot was recognized for her efforts in pushing for a second show and selling most of the tickets for the event.
