Why Trim Codes are Important

The trim code affects timing and

fuel delivery throughout the ECM

map.

To get the maximum benefit from

this type of injector, you MUST

upload the trim code file to the ECM

when you install the injector. Failure

to do so may result in poor engine

performance, rough idle, poor fuel

economy, increased emissions, and

could also result in engine damage.

Trim Code Installation

A disc containing the unique trim code file is

supplied with each injector.

In order to enter the trim code into the ECM

either of the following is required:

Delphi Trim Code Upload Software with

NEXIQ USB Link

or

Caterpillar Electronic Technician (ET)

program with Communication Adapter 317-

7484

Failure to enter the correct trim code into

the ECM can affect engine performance and

emissions.
