INJAZ Bahrain Spotlight INJAZ Al-Arab, a member of Junior Achievement Worldwide (JAW), concluded the 9th chapter of the annual INJAZ Al-Arab Young Arab Entrepreneurs Competition. Hosted at the Shangri-La Hotel in Oman, the event saw fourteen teams made up of young Arab entrepreneurs from across the region battle it out to win the highly covered title of “University Company of the Year” and “School Company of the Year” 2015. Stealing the lime-light were USE FORFAIT from Morocco, winning the University Company of the Year - sponsored by Omantel and, 3 DOT’s from Bahrain, who won two prestigious accolades including High School Company of the Year award - supported by Oman Oil and OMIFCO and, the Remarkable Customer Service Award funded by Citi Foundation. Pinnacle Inc. also bagged the 2015 FedEx Access Award. Other accolades included the Best Social Impact award which was granted to Creative Young from Yemen for the University category and Drops from KSA for the High School category. This year also marked MBC Group and MBC Al Amal’s first sponsorship of INJAZ Al-Arab’s Creative Video Pitch of the Year award which was granted to CSQUARE from Egypt. During an honouring ceremony held on 2 nd December at Al Iman School, Her Highness, Shaikha Hessa Bint Khalifa Al Khalifa, INJAZ Bahrain Executive Director, commented on 3DOT’s, winning both High School Company of the Year and Remarkable Customer Service Award: Commenting on the annual event, Akef Aqrabawi. President and CEO, JA Middle East/ North Africa, INJAZ Al-Arab said: “The Middle East is home to a vast amount of entrepreneurial talent and our annual competition seeks to reward young people who are striving to create companies of the future. By investing in their potential and nurturing youth from an early stage, with the support of private sector mentors, we can create a generation of empower, inspired individuals who contribute to the economic development of their countries.” The annual INJAZ Al-Arab Young Arab Entrepreneurs Competition follows the completion of individual country rounds and closes six months of training in work readiness, financial literacy and entrepreneurship based on INJAZ Al- Arab’s internationally acclaimed Company Program. In total 14 teams from Oman, UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Jordan, Palestine, Lebanon, Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, and Yemen went head to head showcasing their business insight, financial knowledge, marketing support and feasibility studies. The event was attended by over 400 guests including government officials, ambassadors, business leaders, and regional board members. Named one of the top 100 NGOs in the world by Global Journal, INJAZ Al-Arab has influenced the lives of over 2 million students since its inception in 2004. INJAZ Al-Arab is a member of Junior Achievement; the world’s largest and fastest-growing youth business organisation dedicated to educating students about workforce readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy through experiential, hands-on programs. The annual INJAZ Al-Arab Young Arab Entrepreneurs Competition emerged in Amman, Jordan in 2007 under the patronage of HM Queen Rania of Jordan.

INJAZ Bahrain held its annual board companies' coordinators meeting

hosted by Al Salam Bank at the World Trade Center.

The aim of the meeting was to brief all the key business partners on INJAZ

Bahrain’s business plans for the upcoming spring semester 2015/16, boost

the company coordinators' support towards programs, promote INJAZ

Bahrain programs within their organization, seek commitment to provide

high caliber volunteers and exchange new approaches and ideas.

INJAZ Bahrain and its business partners are working jointly to provide

opportunities for youth to explore their potentials and develop skills that

will help them make better career choices and provide them with a more

promising future.

INJAZ Bahrain participates in Knowledge sharing day with Higher

Education Council - HEC

“To work hand in hand with INJAZ Bahrain’s remarkable team to achieve their mission is such a rewarding experience, as a volunteer I realized that our youngsters have potentials and great ambitions. I truly believe with a little help and with the learning opportunities provided by INJAZ Bahrain’s they can successfully achieve their goals. Hear it from a Volunteer

On 28th Jan 2016, INJAZ Bahrain participates in the “knowledge sharing” day organized by the higher education

council, that took place in the HEC premises in Isa Town.

All universities around the Kingdom of Bahrain attended and shared their Entrepreneurship best practices. INJAZ

Bahrain also participated by conducting a General Orientation to brief and explore areas of collaboration with HEC

and universities. The workshop also discussed opportunities to spearhead Entrepreneurship education across

universities in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Board Company Coordinators' Annual meeting

BATELCO welcomes the winning team “3 Dots” at Head office

Batelco Training Centre welcomed, the regional company

winning team 2015, as part of their recognition and

appreciation to the team’s achievements. Batelco is well

known for its support of community initiatives, youth

development programs that provide opportunities for the

development of young people.

The students were introduced to the working environment

at Batelco and given an overview of what Batelco does as a

business. The visit also included a tour of the various

departments of the company to give an insight of how all

departments work alongside each other within the

organization to deliver on the Company’s strategies.

Furthermore, the students had the opportunity to interact

with Batelco staff and ask them questions related to work-

readiness skills, such as negotiation, decision making, and

conflict resolution skills.

Innovation Camps: Explore the spirit of Entrepreneurship

INJAZ Bahrain has successfully conducted 7

Innovation Camp workshops in the fall semester

2015-2016, under the sponsorship of our valuable

board members and leading partners, Citi Bahrain,

GPIC, BAPCO, University of Bahrain, BIBF and

St. Christopher’s school. Moreover, 532 students

have participated and benefited from this

entrepreneurship program with the assistance of

73 corporate volunteers and 7 Bahraini

entrepreneurs that shared their valuable

knowledge, experience and guidance to the

students with hands-on activities and enticing

discussions.

Strengthening ties with Private Education On December 2015, INJAZ Bahrain held a general orientation for the private schools directorate, seeking ways to

collaborate in order to partnership with the private schools in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Attending the orientation

were Ms. Ahlam Al Aamer - Private Education Director and all private school representatives. The director of

private education advised the private schools to partner with INJAZ Bahrain, as she believes in the mission of

inspiring and preparing the Bahraini youth. The orientation included a Q & A session where attendees got to seek

further clarifications on current practices, procedures, programs and implementation guidelines.

Program Supporters Appreciated

INJAZ Bahrain gratefully acknowledges all supporters for their long standing financial support to provide vital, innovative programs that inspire and prepare young Bahrainis to succeed in a global economy.

Furthermore, INJAZ Bahrain conducted its first Company Innovation Camp, where students were invited

to take part in the ICAMP workshop as an engaging ice breaker for the Company program teams and to

experience the spirit of the competition in a smaller scale with their Company competitors, the students

were able to discover their own set of skills, identify the building blocks of a business startup, how to think

outside of the box and worked as a team to find a creative solution for a real business challenge, then

presenting their innovative idea to the judges, leaving with one team winner and all participants received a

certificate from INJAZ Bahrain for successfully completing the Innovation Camp workshop.

Gulf Petroleum Industries Company “GPIC” has taken the initiative to Introduce INJAZ Bahrain Staff to

toastmaster on January 2016.

The training started with INJAZ Bahrain staff introducing themselves to the GPIC Toastmaster club member,

followed by a welcome speech from the president of the club Mr. Yasser Al Noaimi sharing an inspirational

success story of a famous toastmaster and introducing the toastmaster of the day Dr. Ahmed Bucheeri. After a

presentation of the toastmaster history done by one of the valuable members of the club Mr. Moahmmed Abdin,

the day ended with the table topics activity. Ms. Fatima Abdulrahman-INJAZ Bahrain operations officer won

The Best Table Topic where she gave a 2 minute speech about age.
