INITIAL FILM POSTER IDEAS By Rosie Childs

I decided to experiment with a few different ideas I had had for our film poster. As ‘Azrael’ is the Angel of Death, I instantly thought of the idea of using a angel that are often seen in graveyards and cemeteries. Using a simple editing tool on an iPhone, I put different effects on the picture to see what sort of style would work best.

I liked the idea of using a different effect on the image on the poster to distort it, however I decided that the angel almost signified the ‘Horror’ genre more than it did the Noir genre.

As established in my other presentation (poster influences) we wanted to incorporate the styles, textures and colours used in the ‘DRIVE’ poster. The poster really stands out to me as an individual, the bold pink colours and edgy design embody the modern style of neo noir whereas the shadows, chiaroscuro lighting and harsh lines that symbolise venetian blinds convey the conventions of film noir.
