HEMPADUR® 47960The new fast drying epoxy mid-coat, also suitable for one coat selfpriming top-coat at low corrosion classes. Contains zinc phosphate.

HEMPATHANE® HS 55610The new top-coat polyurethane with good gloss and colour retention, suitable for protection of newbuild or maintained steel structures.

HEMPADUR® MASTIC 4588WThe new fast-drying epoxy mid-coat, witch forms a hard and tough coating, has good wetting properties and low temperature curing.

HEMPEL’s R&D centers continuously work towards reducing solvents and increasing the solid

contents of the paint, accelerating the application processes and increasing the duration of

protection. HEMPADUR MASTIC 4588W and HEMPATHANE HS 55610 are the improved versions

of some of HEMPEL’s most sold products, namely HEMPADUR MASTIC 45880/45881 and

HEMPATHANE TOPCOAT 55210 respectively. The new improved products not only dry

fast, but are also in compliance with the strictest VOC regulations and offer long

lasting protection. In this way the impact on the environment is limited, without

CHANGHONG Electronics, one of the biggest TV makers in China, built a TV production base in the Czech Republic. The contractor of the project, SKANSKA CZ, requested protective paints with easy and short application time for the fast erecting production hall of plasma TV sets. The area to be covered was 17.000 sqm, located in Nymburk, Central Bohemia. HEMPEL

met the requirements and supplied 8.000 litres of HEMPADUR MASTIC 4588W, HEMPEL’s new fast drying epoxy midcoat. The application firm, Proficolor, was very satisfied with the fastness and easiness of the application process.

HEMPEL Holland has secured a supply contract with Container Service Groenenboom B.V. (C.S.G.), one of Netherlands biggest repair and container application companies. C.S.G. has a solid commitment with customers such as Hitachi, AVR and Hamburg-Sud. HEMPEL provides approximately 30.000 litres of paints

annually to C.S.G. The new products in HEMPEL’S assortment, such as HEMPADUR MASTIC 4588W and HEMPATHANE

HS 55610, have been very well accepted. The applicators have expressed satisfaction with the

short drying time, the smooth surface effect and the compliance with environmental

legislations of the new products.

The real exposure of paints in infrastructure projects is the best

evidence of reliable performance and fulfilment of our customers’

needs and expectations. HEMPADUR MASTIC 4588W and

HEMPATHANE HS 55610 have already extensively been tested

and used in different countries. Our customers have shown great

satisfaction with the performance of these products.

Follow-up inspection

In order to make sure that the paint system is performing as designed, inspections are carried out at regular time intervals, if requested.

Maintenance

At completion of a project, HEMPEL can issue a maintenance manual and a main guideline, which when adhered to will extend the expected lifetime of the structure.

Reporting

When a project is completed a report is issued with observations made by the Coating Advisors during the construction. The report details conditions during surface preparation and paint application according to agreed service level and stardards.

Pre-Sale adviceIn the presale advice phase, technical specifications and solutions are discussed.The aim is to find the optimal technical solution with a few alternatives.

On-site attendance

In this stage, the Coating Advisors advice on surface preparation and paint application, in order to achieve the best possible result. Coating Advisors are active, on site coating engineers. They are highly qualified - often FROSIO certified - individuals that operate with advanced equipment and according to ISO standardization procedures.

HEMPEL’s Technical Service is provided through a world-wide network of more than 400 especially trained Coating

Advisers. They can provide professional inspection of the surface preparation and application during all the stages of

the project directly at the site, which can have a major impact in terms of extended lifetime of the anticorrosion system

as well as reduced costs. There are five different stages of the service offered by HEMPEL:

The references include a great variety of infrastructure projects, such as bridges, airports, exhibition halls, supermarkets, stock points, production units, but also more demanding applications such as offshore platforms, chemical and petrochemical factories, oil & gas piping and storage tanks, or desulphurisation plants.

The list below offers a brief overview of selected references from recent years. All projects have been painted with a coating system containing epoxy that in most cases is accompanied by a polyurethane top-coat.
