A Word from our Pastor… Meet Laura Walters, our new Preschool Director

We are pleased to announce the hiring of Laura Walters as our new preschool director, effective immediately. The staff and the SPRC committee feel strongly that Laura is the person that God has brought our way.

Laura is an accomplished professional educator and writer of educational curriculum. She has Master of Education and Bache-lor of Science degrees from the UNC Greensboro. She has seem-ingly boundless energy, and contagious passion for ministering to the preschool-age children in our community. Please join the staff, the SPRC and myself in welcoming Laura to the Rehobeth community. I am sure she will be taking us to plac-es we have not been before, places where God would ask us to inhabit, and minister in. Also, please take the opportunity to thank Cindy McManus for filling in since the 1st of the year as our Interim Preschool Director. Cindy has painstakingly, and selflessly navigated the preschool in a new direction. Her contribution to the preschool over the years cannot be understated. We remain in her debt.

Kids on a Mission... Kids on a Mission had our last meeting before summer

on Tuesday, May 29. We have been very busy and

learned a lot this year! We have learned it is better to

give than receive, how to do many crafts, how to take

time on projects, and so much more! We were able to

share our crafts with others, help provide Christmas for

2 kids in need, send money with the mission team to

provide school supplies for the kids there, and are look-

ing forward to sharing flowers as our seeds grow. A big

thank you to everyone who helped volunteer this year,

and who provided a meal for the kids! We will be get-

ting together this summer for various activities, so stay

tuned! We also will start meeting again this fall, so

please be in prayer for how you can help bless these

kids and you will be blessed by them as well!

Health & Wellness Corner...

Guess What? It's almost time for our next blood drive at Rehobeth! Put June 12th on your calendar, and make an appointment to give the gift of life .RUMC has been designated a Red Cross Premier Blood Donor Partner, and we are pleased to have collected

381 units in our previous ten drives. If you can't give, encourage someone you know to do so. Each dona-tion is vital. One lucky donor will receive a $50.00 gift card!

Lois Peele will again be running the canteen on June 12, as she has done since we began our drives. She has a passion for this cause and has donated 151 units HERSELF! Go Lois!

Remember EACH unit of blood can save up to 3 lives. Lois says, "just do it"! ~ Lynda Hodges, RN
