Over a hundred of you responded, many with donations of £70 but asignificant number with largeramounts and we at LST, our facultymembers, students and staff, wantto thank you for your support of thisappeal and of the School, whichsince its establishment, has beenbuilt on philanthropic foundations.John Laing enabled the London BibleCollege to be established soon afterthe Second World War and theninvested again to ensure a successfulmove to the current Northwoodsite—LST would simply not existtoday without the generosity ofindividuals, alumni, charitable bodies
and organisations, so thank you!The campaign has raised enough
to enable us to begin creating thenew 'LST Virtual LearningEnvironment', which will facilitatestudent's studying with us anywherein the world. This will be particularlyexciting for Christians in themajority world who will be able toaccess theological training withouthaving to leave their homes;equipping a new internationalgeneration with theological skillsand understanding to minister totheir communities.
We are continually fundraising forthis development and need to raise
an additional £6,000 by September2014 so that the LST VirtualLearning Environment can becompleted and launched for thestart of the academic term. Everydonation, whether large or small, makes a positive contribution to ourwork in equipping todays Christiancommunities with academic andpractical theological skills toadvance God's Kingdom.
Don't forget that by signing a GiftAid declaration, LST can claim anextra 20p for ever £1 donated—please consider signing up if youhaven't already! Thank you onceagain for your support.
Update on '£70 for 70 Years' AppealWe've had a tremendous response to our latest appeal, where we asked oursupporters and alumni to donate £70 for 70 Years, celebrating how far we've comesince the School's establishment in 1943, as well as the thousands of LST alumniwho are now engaged in diverse and life-changing ministries across the world.
LST In The Park includedperformances from leadingChristian musicians such asGungor, Graham Kendrick,Samuel Lane, The All Soul’sOrchestra and Soul Survivor’sJamie Rodwell, along with a hostof LST student bands, faculty andalumni artists.
The event also marked the
retirement of David Peacock fromfull time teaching at LST. Wewanted to be sure to celebrate allthat David has meant and willcontinue to mean to the college.
We also announced the winnerof our Rising Theologiancompetition—which saw MattWalmsley win and choose toundertake MA level study at LST
