Course Overview

• Industrial Training (SKMM 3915/SKMO 3915) is offered in the third year, during the long semester break (Semester 3).

• It is a compulsory course for students of Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from all programs (SKMM/SKMB/SKMP/SKMI/SKMV/SKMO/SKMT).

• Industrial Training with 5-credit course exposes students to the real work setting in various industries for 12 weeks. The course utilizing 200-hour Student Learning Time (SLT).

• The students are placed in industries that best suit their area of studies.

• It is an experiential learning that requires the students to learn the process and able to apply the knowledge acquired in class in actual industrial setting.

• The knowledge acquired during practical training may be used later in final year project and final year courses as well as to equip them for future job.

Industrial Training (19 July – 9 October 2020)

Industrial Training Supervision by the Faculty Supervisor from 7 Sept 2020 –23 September 2020

Assessment Submission:

BLP02 –Faculty supervisor will complete the form and submit the form online before 30 September 2020.

BLP03 – Organization supervisor will complete and submit the form to UTM before 1 October 2020 online via the link given in the form.

Students will submit their Industrial training reports, logbooks and ePortfolio links to the Faculty supervisor (via email) and Program coordinators (via e-learning) before/on 18 October 2020

Faculty supervisor complete the assessment in the ITS system before 31 October 2020

logbook.
