Obzerv offers two ARGC cameras – the ARGC-2400 and the ARGC-750, they perfectly complement each other to provide a com-plete perimeter coverage. For a cost-effective perimeter surveillance with reduced line-of-sight, one should deploy several wide -angle ARGC-750 cameras. With an operational range going from 50 m to 4 km and beyond, the ARGC-750 is the selection of choice to fullfil short to medium distance surveillance requirements. When ultra long range surveillance is required, such as monitoring a high-value asset nearby the sea (as depicted in the example below), the utilization of the ARGC-2400 will reduce the infrastructure costs required by shorter range cameras. An appropriate survey and analysis of your requirements will demonstrate the benefits of the Obzerv’s cost-effective solution, with savings on infrastructure including less surveillance control rooms and human resources.

multiple sensors for dAY And nigHt obzervAtion The ARGC cameras have two sensors that can be used with the high magnification telescope: a color camera and an Intensified Charged-Couple Device (ICCD) camera, gated to the laser pulse. The telescope design is achromatic and therefore the camera can provide the same high magnification at day or night. Moreover, a wide-field-of-view color camera is also available for day observation. A thermal camera can be installed on the top of the ARGC-2400 or inside the enclosure of the ARGC-750 based on the required performance.

vAlue proposition

Positively identifies threats quickly, allowing for a rapid reaction with minimal false alarms and all costs and collateral damage associated with them.

Saves on infrastructure and human resource costs. Existing towers can be used, as a single camera will cover a larger area thancommon thermal imagers and other electro-optic devices.

defending HigH-vAlue Assets

Protecting high-value assets from terrorist attacks is one of today’s major surveillance challenges. These facilities are at risk from bombers, thieves, bunglers and other threats. A well secured industrial site will include the surveillance of a gated perimeter zone and well beyond it. In order to detect and prevent any possible threats to the site, nearby roads and canals will be survey as well.

Consider the following scenario: guards on a night time patrolat a nuclear power plant spot something suspicious 2 km out-side the perimeter. They radio a colleague inside the plant, who directs a thermal imaging camera towards the suspicious zone. He sees a white speck moving around an abandoned vehicle in a buffer zone near an urban area. He informs the patrol that it could be a wild animal or a man as the patrol, feeling less sus-picious, get closer for a spot check. However, it turns out it was

a trap. Attackers hold the patrol at gunpoint, forcing them to report the perimeter is clear.

An Obzerv’s ARGC camera would have spotted the belligerents through the car’s windshield and the appropriate law enforcement or security team would have been sent to the site immediately.

Keeping a safe perimeter around power plants or large indus-trial installations can be costly, especially if it relies heavily on patrols that, which is predictable and subject to the kind of attacks described above. The ARGC-750 and ARGC-2400 cameras will provide a very good area coverage. The combina-tion of these cameras will prove to be an extremely effective ally for perimeter security teams.

While thermal cameras are good for detection, they do poorly for identification. Thermal camera systems cannot display written characters on surfaces (such as license plates), cannot provide human identification, nor can it penetrate glass. Obzerv’s active range-gated cameras offer all these capabilities.

Displays natural contrast and details.

Unequal performance for identification: it can read characters, numbers and markings on any surface.

Provides target details with a signature of objects independent of their temperature or environmental conditions.

Can identify humans.

Reduces the blooming effects caused by undesirable lighting sources in urban environments.

Penetrates glass such as windows and windshields.

Sees through many atmospheric particles like snow, rain and fog.

Provides long-range detection of targets such as riffles, binoculars, retro-reflective strips of life jackets and human eyes.

Obzerv’s ARGC cameras are Commercial Off-The-Shell (COTS) devices.

Obzerv’s ARGCs don’t fall under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

For international airports close to harbors, the height of nearby vessels is sometimes needed to alert low-flying aircraft in the vicinity. An ARGC-2400 camera integrated with a radar can accurately measure the vessels’ height 1, 3, 5 and even 10 km away with high accuracy. You get the measurement with two simple mouse clicks at the top and bottom of the vessel.

Because of these advantages, the ARGC-750 was deployed to upgrade a large, cutting-edge surveillance system at an international airport in Asia.

Today’s challenges leave no room for error. Security teams need to do more than just identify a warm spot with a thermal imager, they must also identify nearby activities.

Some private corporations maintain internal close quarter battle teams. These teams may, for example, be contracted to respond to an incident at a government facility. In such a scenario, they would act as Crisis Response Team (CRT) and “clear” the facility of suspected threats or protesters. These costly teams would be used more efficiently if the perimeter had been effectively monitored by an ARGC camera, and so they would only be sent in when a potential or impending intrusion has been identified.

The superior capacities of the Obzerv camera make it an ideal system for long range identification. The ARGC system can scan specific areas automatically or be used in manual mode. The performance and capabilities of Obzerv’s cameras are making them the expert’s choice for perimeter surveillance.
