    Year 6 Graduation Ceremony

This year due to COVID-19 restrictions the Year 6 end of year celebrations will look a little different.

We will be holding a Graduation Ceremony at Cessnock Leagues Club where students will be able to

invite 2 adults. Social distancing guidelines will be followed at the venue. The event will run from 5pm

until 7pm on Thursday 10 December. At this stage we will be unable to hold the whole school disco

after the ceremony, however if restrictions are eased we will add this to the evening at a later date.

    Farewell to Long Serving Families

This year we have a few families who will be leaving the school as their

children move on to high school. On behalf of the staff and students, we

would like to thank the families of Luke A, Matthew B, Clare C, Ava D,

    Ruby G, Bella I and Nate R.

will be able to attend our water slide and water fun day here at Kearsley Public School. Gold level

students are encouraged to bring with them a water gun if they have one. Students who have not

reached this reward will be included in activities with Mrs Trigg such as cooking

    and games.

    Cessnock High School Transition

    Presentation Week

Today classes K/1, 1/2 and 2/3 participated in an excursion to Kearsley dam and our local area. Students

walked with Mrs Trigg, Mrs Graham, Mrs Pitt and Mrs Power to investigate our local environment.

    Our Local Environment

Transition for Year 6 students to Cessnock High School will conclude on Tuesday 1 December. On the

day students from all feeder schools will work with their peer support leaders to become orientated with

the school, and complete activities. Students are required to wear their primary school’s uniform. They

are expected to arrive at Cessnock High School by 9.25am and be picked up promptly at 11am.

As Covid-19 restrictions have eased, we are now able to invite small numbers of parents on to school

grounds for special events. Therefore this year we will be presenting end of year awards over a week.

This will allow us to invite parent/carers of award recipients onsite to be present for the award

ceremony. The outline for the week is:

    Monday– K-2 awards

Tuesday– Kuluwayn Leadership badge presentation and Sport House Captain badge presentation

    Wednesday– 3-6 awards

Thursday– School Leadership badge presentation and prestigious awards

All awards ceremonies will be held from 2.30pm. Families of award recipients will have already

received a letter inviting two adults to be present on the allocated day for their child’s award. Please

ensure when visiting the school to keep in mind Covid-19 protocols. There will be a sign on register for

each visitor to comply with requirements.

On Tuesday 8 December years K-2 students will be travelling to

Hunter Valley Zoo at Nulkaba. The cost of the excursion is free

as the P&C have covered both bus hire and entry fee as well as a

feed bag for the animals per student. Students will depart from

school at 9.40am and will return to school at approximately

2pm.The students will wear full school uniform including hat

and bring with them lunch and a water bottle.

    Hunter Valley Zoo

    Ninja Park

On Monday 7 December years 3, 4, 5 and 6 students will be

attending the Ninja Parc at Cooks Hill. The cost of the excursion

will be $5 with permission note, waiver and payment due by

Wednesday 2 December. The P&C have generously donated $20 per student to help families with the

cost of entry and bus. Students will depart school at 9am and will return at approximately 3pm.

Students will need to bring plenty of recess, lunch & water. Student will also need sunscreen and hat as

they will be having lunch at a local park. On the day casual and sensible clothing should be worn with

joggers for walking around the venue and to the park for lunch.

    Season’s Greetings,

With our final meeting approaching really fast, we would like to take this

opportunity to thank our wonderful families for your continued support this

    year.

Though it has been a tough year, your support has made it possible to still

contribute towards multiple school excursions this term for all grades and make

the cost a lot more affordable.

We will wrap up our year with our last fundraising opportunity with our

Bunnings BBQ on Saturday 5th December. We are still accepting donations and

every little bit helps. If you are available to help out on the day we are still

trying to fill the time slots please contact Nicole Wadsworth on 0401245521

To show our appreciation to you all we welcome you to join us for the next

meeting on Thursday 3rd December in Library at 3.30pm following the meeting

we will have snacks and drinks and we encourage everyone to stay. With Covid

restrictions we do require an RSVP if you are coming to Brook Gatt 0407450566.
