INCENTIVE TO NCC CADETS
• Vacancies reserved for commission in
the Defence Forces for NCC “C”
Certificate holders.
• Army
IMA – 64 Vacancies every year through
UPSC and SSB
32 Vacancies for NCC “C” certificate
holders who have passed UPSC
Entrance Exam
OTA MADRAS
• NCC “C” certificates with Min ‘B’ grade
are exempted from appearing in written
exam conducted by UPSC for SSC(Non-
Tech) course of OTA Madras through NCC
Special Exam. 50 vacancies are reserved
for one course.
• For enrolment as solder GD(Category)-
exempted from Part-I of the written exam –
placed on top of the merit.
• For solder Clerk/SKT/Tech – not exempted
from written exam. But 10 % bonus marks
are awarded of the total marks earned.
• 8% bonus marks for NCC ‘B’ certificate
and 5% bonus marks for NCC ‘A’
certificate holders will be awarded on
the basis of the total marks scored in
physical and written exam.
• Only one type of concession is
applicable for a candidate if he is both a
NCC certificate holder and a son of
service men/Ex-service men.
NAVY
• Upto 6 vacancies per course for grant of
commission are reserved for eligible NCC
Cadets as Special Entry. Cadets having ‘C’
certificate of Naval Wing, have passed B
Sc or BE have found fit by SSB. Such
candidate are exempted from appearing in
CDS conducted by UPSC.
• Weightage of additional marks is given for
recruitment in Navy.

Sailor(MER) & Direct Entry Artificer
Apprentices Diploma holder.
Certificate ‘B’ – 4 marks
Certificate ‘C’ – 6 marks
AIR FORCE

SPORTS / ADVENTURE ACTIVITIES
• As directed by the Central Advisory
Committee, in their meeting held in Oct
1996, under the Chairmanship of the then
RRM, the Governing Body of the Cadets
Welfare Society decided in May 1997 to
expand the scope of the Society to cater for
the Sports and adventure activities for NCC
Cadets.
• The Governing Body in this meeting also
delegated powers to the Managing
Committee to sanction sports and adventure
projects worth upto Rs. 15 Lacs per project.
HOLD RALLIES / CAMPAIGNS / ROAD
SHOWS
• The above was approved in the
Governing Body Meeting held on 27
Aug 2009 which was necessitated to
bring in more social awareness and
motivate youth to join NCC

Aug 2009. This was included to cover
up any activity of Trg/ welfare which

SAHARA SCHOLARSHIPS
From 2002, a scheme called Annual Sahara Scholarship hasbeen introduced. The scheme was initially for 3 years whichhas now been extended upto 2013. Sahara has earmarkedRs.1 crore to be given as scholarship to NCC Cadetsannually. It may be mentioned that in the past we have beenable to utilise the following amount : -
(a) 2002 – 2003 Rs. 31,85,000/- against 1 crore
(b) 2003 – 2004 Rs. 50,80,000/- against 1 crore
(c) 2004 – 2005 Rs. 75,80,000/- against 1 crore
(d) 2005 – 2006 Rs. 75,00,000- against 1 crore
(e) 2006 – 2007 Rs.1,00,02,000/- against 1 crore
