FINAL PROGRAM

Welcome

The Global Alliance of Eye Bank Associations and the prior World Eye Bank Symposium Committee Members warmly invite you to

attend their first Global Scientific Meeting since official incorporation in early 2014. This will mark the first of many global opportu-

nities designed to develop robust discussion, network and promote knowledge exchange and—ultimately - support global corneal

eye care outcomes for millions of waiting recipients.

This meeting will depart from the usual lecture-question-format. Its purpose will be to better engage all participants in a Global

Conversation. The day has been organized into General Themes, with a few lead presentations given to introduce a topic in each

session, before opening into more of a “roundtable discussion” - primarily led, but not dominated by the panel presenters.

Audience members are encouraged to participate in discussions, network and exchange details.

And, as the Californian sun goes down in the West and our milestone scientific meeting comes to a close, our host city eye bank,

the San Diego Eye Bank, invites you to enjoy all the colours in the sky and kiss another day goodbye while joining them for

cocktails and hors d'oeuvres at twilight. Additionally, our host eye bank invites you to tour their facility at any time during your

stay in San Diego. To schedule a visit please email: [email protected] or [email protected].

The Global Alliance would also like to take this moment to thank their host city eye bank, event sponsors and the individual eye

banks and organizations involved in providing financial scholarship support to our colleagues from around the world. We could not

do this without your support, generosity and passion.

We look forward to seeing you in San Diego—and please don’t forget to register (details on the back page) - and we hope you

enjoy all the City of San Diego has to offer.

Thank you
