Do you print all of the Financial Reports and then click Post All Financials? If you answered Yes to the above ques- tions, you are creating extra work for your- self plus increasing the time required to obtain your reports. The Post All Allocations button was added to the menu to allow you to quickly allocate costs to produce mid-month reports. The Post All Financials button was added to al- low the information on your financial re- ports to be stored in temporary tables so that you can then proceed to prepare vari- ous supplements at mid-month that extract data from these tables to generate reports. Neither button is designed to be used at month end, nor should they be viewed as additional steps when closing your month end. During month end processing you should print each report individually and in order. This is especially important when running the Cost Allocation menu. If you do not print each and every report on the Cost Allocation menu and in their proper order, you may discover your financial re- ports have either missing or inaccurate in- formation. As you print your reports, you should always review them for accuracy before continuing to the next report. 50% Supplement Credit Expires End of Month!

Baltimore Summit Attendees – The deadline for ordering supplements and receiving the credit is June 30, 2014. Agencies whose staff attended the GMS Summit 2014 in Baltimore, MD

are entitled to a 50% discount on the purchase of supplements up to the cost of their regular summit registration fee on all supplements ordered between the time of registering and June

30, 2014. For those agencies whose staff registered for and attended the intensives following

the regular summit, the 50% supplement discount credit will also be applied. For agencies that

sent some employees to the regular summit and other employees to the intensives, the 50%

credit will be applied against the larger of the two: summit or intensive registrations. The credit will not be applied against the combination of both summit and intensive registrations.

SUDOKU FUN We Need Your Summit Evaluations Please!

We rely on the evaluations turned in by attendees of the GMS

Summits in a big way! Suggestions for new sessions are dis-

cussed every year by the GMS staff and comments about ses-

sions are reviewed and discussed in an attempt to improve

sessions in the following years. Ideas and suggestions about

general topics also help us when we are looking for outside

guest speakers or to come up with new sessions. If we only

receive evaluations from 10% of the attendees and one or

two of the 10% didn’t like a session or would like to add a

new one, we don’t really have a good representation of opin-

ions upon which to base our decisions. This is also true when

rating sessions. GMS staff review all the comments and rat-

ings to determine what the attendees liked and didn’t like and

what new ideas have been suggested for future training ses-

sions. If you attended the GMS Summit 2014 in Baltimore,

MD and haven’t had a chance to return your evaluation,

please mail or fax a copy to the Maryland office, or email a

scanned copy to [email protected]. Our address and fax

number are on page 2 of this newsletter. An evaluation form

follows this newsletter for your convenience.
