• In order to improve the ecological environment of Qinghai Province, to develop the seabuckthorn industry with plateau features and to promote the local farmers to increase their income, we have paid great attention to the construction of our standardized seabuckthorn bases, with the help of the governments at different levels and forestry departments. At the same time, we have signed long-term cooperation agreements with the forestry departments of Datong, Huzhu, Huangzhong, Ping’an, Hualong and so on, and the collection of seabuckthorn is standardized and programmed, enabling the sustainable utilization of the seabuckthorn resources. Now, our seabuckthorn bases are certified by ISO9000, China Organic Food Certification Centre and other international organic certification centres.

• According to our plan, the theme of the 5th ISA Conference is “to draw the attention of the whole society to seabuckthorn and ecology, with the participation of governments, medium, research organizations, investors and consumers.” In China, the development of seabuckthorn and its related industries has already attracted the attention of government leaders at high levels.

• The Chinese seabuckthorn industry is becoming a booming high-tech and ecological industry, and the local governments at different levels not only provide great support to the development of seabuckthorn industry, but also encourage farmers and herdsmen to plant seabuckthorn and cultivate seabuckthorn resources. In Qinghai, such a province with its crucial ecological position, some experiences and achievements have been obtained in terms of attention to seabuckthorn industry and ecological constructions. We believe that, if the 5th ISA Conference would be held in Qinghai, an upsurge in seabuckthorn and ecological industry will be achieved in Qinghai and even China, and we also believe that great development opportunities would be provided to the practitioners in related industries.

• In order to apply for sponsor the 5th ISA Conference, we have already made out the budget for the conference outlay of RMB800,000, including routine expenses, renting expenses, reception expenses and so on, and we will raise the costs in the following 3 ways.

• First, the most part will be self-financing, Tsinghua Biotry will spend RMB570,000 to sponsor the 5th conference. In the recent years, Tsinghua Biotry has a rapid development in our business, with a considerable margin of profits, so we would like to share the most part of the conference expenses, in order to expand our popularity both in domestic and international markets and to give impetus to the development of seabuckthorn industry.

• Secondly, the People’s Governments at different levels in Qinghai Province pay great attention to the development of Qinghai ecological industry, and have formulated the strategy of “Ecological Qinghai”, so we will finance RMB100,000 from Qinghai commercial departments, in order to take this opportunity to propagate “the Great and Beautiful Qinghai” and to expand the influences of Qinghai internationally.

• Thirdly, the registration fees from the conferees, estimated at 100 conferees, excluding ISA council members, specially invited experts, reporters and scholars, each will be charged at USD200, and the gross income would be USD20,000, about RMB130,000.

• If we were lucky enough to sponsor the 5th ISA Conference, we will try our utmost to make it a great success, and we would like to fulfill the following commitments:

• First, started from the preparation for the conference, we will try our best to draw attention and support from the governments at different levels, medium and research institutions, and we will invite China Administration Centre for Seabuckthorn Development (CACSD) of the Ministry of Water Resources of P. R. China, well-known Tsinghua University and Northwest Institute of Plateau Biology of Chinese Academy of Sciences as technological support to ensure the fulfillment of the expected goals of the conference;

• Secondly, we will try our best to reduce the expenses of the conferees by obtaining financial support from government and enterprises, and we will keep the registration fee not higher than US$200 and will share 50% of the accommodation costs of the conferees.

• Thirdly, we will set up a specialized wet site for the 5th ISA Conference in both Chinese and English for propaganda and information exchange, and we will provide the Chinese version for ISA home web site and relative technical support, in order to propagate ISA, to propagate seabuckthorn industry and to push forward the development of seabuckthorn industry in China.

• At the completion of the conference, we are also planning to arrange some visits to the most popular tourist attractions and ecological construction areas in Qinghai Province, such as Qinghai-Tibet Railway, Qinghai Lake and Ta’er Lamasery. We are certain that all conferees will have beautiful memories for the magnificence of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.

• The 5th ISA Conference in Qinghai will be a bridge of harmony between science and technology, and embody the unique integration of the abundant ecological resources in Qinghai and high-techs of the world.

• Our application for the 5th ISA Conference has the full support of the People’s Government of Qinghai Province and is enthusiastically backed by the people of different nationalities from Qinghai.
