It was the last couple of months that the cancer was no longer contained and recently spread throughout. Mom did not complain. She loved life and the people in it. It has been a tough couple of weeks with more ahead. I have really appreciated the out pour of love and support. OBITUARY OF MARIAN CHRISTENSEN

Marian Elizabeth Christensen, 77, of Goldendale, Washington passed away peacefully at her home with her husband and daughter at her bedside on February 7, 2017.

She was born April 5, 1939 in Spokane, Washington to Edward and Marguerite Buergel Holling. She has one brother, Jay Holling and his wife Carol living in Rosalia, Washington.

After graduating from Rosalia High School in 1957, Marian moved to Spokane, Washington and began working for Pacific NW Bell Telephone Company. She later transferred to Seattle then shortly to Portland, Oregon.

Page 3: IN MEMORY OF MARIAN CHRISTENSEN (April 5, 1939- Feb. 7, 2017)wigowsky.com/images/MarianChristensen.pdf · driving school bus so she could have the same days off as her daughter did

She met and on November 23, 1963 married Gerald Wolfe from Donald, Oregon. Seven years later they adopted their only child Kathy who currently resides with her husband Rod Kamm and their son Tyler in Salem, Oregon.

Marian quit her job to stay home with their daughter until Kathy started elementary school. Marian then decided to start driving school bus so she could have the same days off as her daughter did during the school year. After driving school bus for over ten years she went back to work, and ultimately retired from, the telephone company who by then had changed its name to US West Direct.

After 31 years of marriage Marian's husband Gerald preceded her in death. Marian continued to live on their farm until 1998 when her friends introduced her to a cowboy from South Dakota, Clair Christensen.

Marian and Clair married June 17, 1999 and lived in Aberdeen, South Dakota and later moved to Goldendale in 2002. Marian's interests included knitting, horseback riding, being an avid walker and together with her love and best friend Clair volunteered many hours helping at the dog shelter located across the street from them. They would also often foster old dogs which are harder to adopt out.

Mom's passing leaves our family and her friends with a vacancy in our hearts but we find comfort knowing she is with our Heavenly Father and we will all be together again. Marian's wishes were to not have a memorial service, however she may be honored by sending memorial contributions in Marian's name to Dogs of the Gorge, P.O. Box 931, Goldendale, WA 98620.
