Save the Date: How To Build a Culture of Vocations in our Parishes and Homes: St. John’s Parishioners

Please join the Office of Vocations in welcoming Fr. Brett Brannen, acclaimed author and speaker, to our diocese. Fr. Brannen will present a workshop on Thursday, April 27 at 5:30 p.m. at St. John the Evangelist and also on Friday, April 28 at 5:30 p.m. at Terra Sancta. The evening begins with dinner followed by a presentation by Fr. Brannen and time for prayer. Fr. Brannen will share insights from his own vocation journey as well as his extensive experience and wisdom on how to inspire a culture of vocations. This workshop is open to all even other parishes! There is no charge but registration is required. Register online at: www.gods-call.org/sayyes or call the Vocations office: 716-5214 ext. 233 or call the church office.

#1847 "God created us without us: but he did not will to save us without us." To receive his mercy, we must admit our faults. "If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just, and will forgive our sins and cleanse us

from all unrighteousness."

# 2840 Now - and this is daunting - this outpouring of mercy cannot penetrate our hearts as long as we have not forgiven those who have trespassed against us. Love, like the Body of Christ, is indivisible; we cannot love the God we cannot see if we do not love the brother or sister we do see. In refus-ing to forgive our brothers and sisters, our hearts are closed and their hard-ness makes them impervious to the Father's merciful love; but in confessing

our sins, our hearts are opened to his grace.

May the angels lead you into paradise: Jean Petersen

Wilson, mother of Lou Ann Leischer. Funeral is Saturday,

April 22nd at 11am. Burial at Scotty Philip Cemetery-1:30 pm.

On Sunday evening 30 April will be an appeal for joining the

Terra Sancta Guild, an annual giving society, to support the

ministries of our West River Diocese. Just as universities invite

people to join the mission by financial support, so our larger

church mission needs financial support.

Raised in Timber Lake, Steven Biegler will be ordained Bishop

of Cheyenne, 2pm, Monday 5 June. Fr. Ron is organizing a bus

leaving St John's Sunday, 11:10am, going through Winner, and

staying overnight in Cheyenne, and returning in early AM

Tuesday, after the ordination. Cost: $90 for bus, plus hotel and

meals for yourself. Reserve a spot, cell 605 850 8593.

A Welcome to all newcomers!

Please take a welcome folder from the basket in the main entrance.

To register, contact the parish office or online at

Get Formed! Utilize our parish subscription to the best Catholic content on the internet by going to formed.org and register using our parish code: 3KHGCJ. Check out the program “forgiven: The Transforming Power of Confession”. Forgiven explores the grace and healing offered in confession and shows how this sacrament of mercy reveals the depth and bounty of God’s love.
