With a strong sense of leadership and service to the credit union industry, he guided the credit union for 21 years. During his service on the Board of Directors, assets grew from $17,750,060 (1987) to $119,114,246 (2008) and membership grew from 8,286 to 16,567. During his tenure on the Board, the credit union experienced many mile- stones including reaching $50 million in assets in 1996 and $100 million in assets in 2003. Don helped introduce many innovative products such as Easy Access Telephone Teller, the first cscu.org website, and PC Home Teller and Payment Service. Don also was instrumental in the opening of several branches including the branch on Dublin and Acad- emy, the Cascade branch, the Woodland Park branch and the Dublin and Union branch. Mr. Fansler, Aventa’s Chairman of the Board, had the opportunity to work with Don for his entire 21 year tenure. “Don was passionate about the credit union movement and played a vital role as a credit union advocate. He also wanted to ensure that the credit union’s products and services were affordable.” Don was a graduate of Colorado Springs High School and Colorado College. He worked for Pure Oil Company in Midland, Texas and retired from the Colorado Springs Utilities after 37 years. He is survived by his wife, Barbara, and his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Holiday Closures

Donald Earl “Don” Singmaster, our Secretary of the Board from 1987 to 2008, passed away on August 6, 2016 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

With a strong sense of leadership and service to the credit union industry, he guided the credit union for 21 years. During his service on the Board of Directors, assets grew from

Thomas “Tom” Fortune, our Audit Committee Chairman from 2010 to 2016, passed away in August 2016 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Tom had a love of credit unions and had a great understanding of the role the Audit Committee played in the credit union. Throughout Tom’s six years of service, Aventa Credit Union continued to operate under a system of strong internal controls in accordance with Board policies and Credit Union procedures.

Chip-Enabled Debit Cards Coming in 2017Aventa’s new chip-enabled debit card will be coming in early 2017. Our new chip-enabled debit card enhances the security of your transactions.
