The Barbagia of Ollolai, the "heart of Sardinia", is a disadvantaged area affected by problems of depopulation, isolation (even cultural), lack of services and youth unemployment. These weaknesses are, however, counterbalanced by the cultural and landscape richness that characterizes this territory and represents for young people who spend here a period of their life an excellent opportunity for cultural, professional and human enrichment. The specific objective of the project is to promote the active citizenship of the young people of Ollolai and the European integration of Barbagia area. SUMMARY The project encourages young people to become the main actors of change towards a more inclusive and supportive society, increasing their sense of initiative and, consequently, their employability. It therefore contributes to the achievement of the objectives of the European Solidarity Body Program. The project aims to have an impact on: volunteers, who will have the opportunity to exchange ideas, opinions, experiences, acquire new skills and grow humanly; local young people, especially NEETs, who will be stimulated to be active citizens and will increase their self-esteem, their spirit of initiative and, consequently, their employability; participating organizations, that will exchange good practices; host community, which will have new incentives and will be encouraged to travel to discover and learn more about other realities; sending communities, which will benefit from the human, professional and cultural enrichment of their volunteers. The methodologies used will be non-formal, interactive and based on learning by doing. INFO KIT

- support in organizing all initiatives and events promoted by theMunicipality of Ollolai and local associations; - support to international mobility for work, volunteering andtraining abroad for young people with fewer geographicalopportunities; - promotion of the territory and local identity; - meetings withschools, cultural associations, sports associations, institutions andyouth councils.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

The proposed activities promote inclusion and socialcohesion and allow volunteers, using methods ofinformal learning, to improve their abilities, skills andcompetences.The most important skill that we hope to convey is theability to "learn to learn".

Participants, getting in touch with other youth workers and young peoplecoming from different backgrounds, will receive strong incentives for theircuriosity to know. The awareness of the existence of other - and many – realities will accentuatetheir predisposition to learning, the knowledge and the willingness to gobeyond their mere everyday life.Other skills that we aim toconvey are:–capacity building;–ability to work in a network for common goals;–organizational skills;–ability to work in groups;–leadership skills;–analytical skills;–ability to communicate in the mother tongue and in foreign languages;–cultural awareness and expression, because the comparison with othercultures will lead participants to appreciate them and express it;

–social and civic competences, as participants will be asked to take the field, as"social animals" and citizens, with all the rights and obligations that this entails; - digital skills, as they will prepare power point or audiovisual presentations,as well as reports, forms, etc.;–self-esteem.Progress and difficulties of volunteers will be monitored during theimplementation of the project by the coordinators and the referents for theSending, Receiving and Hosting Organizations. Volunteers will be put in aposition to reflect and express their opinions freely. Everyone will beencouraged to express their opinions without being afraid of makingmistakes or saying wrong things, because there will be no "right and wrongthoughts", but "similar and different thoughts". And the diversity will nothave a negative meaning but, on the opposite, a positive meaning. At the end of the Volunteering project, all participants will receive aYouthpass, which will describe what did they learn and gain during theproject activities. The project will have a huge impact even on the local youth and the entirehost community, which will have the opportunity to enrich them culturally,linguistically and, above all, humanly.
