November Learning Leadership Report
The Learning Leadership Report is a monthly publication that highlights how Rocky Mountain School District is bringing our District Directions and BC’s redesigned cur-riculum to life and announces upcoming learning opportunities. Share your learning story or ideas at [email protected].
This month’s LL Report features a touching story of personal and community connec-tions made from a picture book learning sequence, the success of the national envi-ronmental conference we were part of, career learning for primary and secondary students, principal leadership for place-based learning, and many more stories of learning across the district.
Enjoy! Follow this link to get to the LL Report online: http://pub.lucidpress.com/
Student Led Conferences and Report Cards at WES
The first term formal report card for students in grades 1 – 7 will be sent home on December 6. All classroom teachers at WES will be hold-ing ‘Student Led Conferences’ with their students and their student’s parents/guardians on November 28th and November 29th. These con-ferences are an incredible opportunity for students to share their ex-citement about their learning and for parents/guardians to engage in those conversations with your child and your child’s teacher. Notice of how to schedule your ‘Student Led Conference’ has been sent home in your child’s agenda or emailed. We look forward to sharing this oppor-tunity with you and your child.
NOVEMBER RECOGNITION ASSEMBLY
This year’s Christmas Concert
will be on Thursday, December 20
two performance:

school gym.

WES would like to thank our dignitaries and guests for
joining us for our Remembrance Day ceremony on
Friday November 9th. Our students did a wonderful job
sharing what they have learned regarding the signifi-
cance of the day through poetry and song.
Lest we forget.
DRESS FOR THE WEATHER!
Please ensure that your child is dressed appropriately for the colder weather as they will be going outside every day. It is rare that students stay indoors so please make sure they are prepared everyday with:
socks, mitts, toques, warm winter coats, winter boots and snow pants.
Students who ride the bus must be dressed for the weather. This could become a safety issue if the bus experienced me-chanical problems and students were required to stay on the bus for an extended period of time.
Parents and Guardians, If you have not checked out the
changes to the Gr. K-7 SD6 Reporting
standards, please see the information
provided in the link below. This
information can also be accessed
through our school website: Parents/
Students->K-7 Reporting.
If you have any questions, please speak to your child’s
teacher or call the school at anytime. Thanks!
