USE OF

COMPUTERS..

Computers where do you even begin? There is so much to know and to learn that many find themselves to be overwhelmed by the thought of learning them.

You see kids of today sitting in front of a computer like they were born to know how to use them. Almost as if there little brains have been preprogrammed.

Then you have the little old ladies little my grandma that can’t understand why we call an input device a mouse, and even worse she can’t figure out how to double click.

Computers have not only grown to be able to function and run major companies, but they have taken over the ways in which human communication takes place. They have changed the way in which we think, work and communicate.

Negative Impact

Vision Problems Physical Health Issues Exposure to Radiation Addiction Computer Crime Data Security Unemployment Wastage of time

Many people use computer without positive purpose they play game and chat with friends long time. It causes wastage of time and energy.

It’s hard to believe that it’s been nearly ten years since the Internet began to take hold of everyone. In 1995, only 14 of users actually used the Internet for whatever reason; now, can you imagine a day in which you aren’t using the Internet or technology as a whole in your daily life? From smart phones to GPS to electronic entrances to your apartment, there have been many advances in technology.

Agricultural Drones

Relatively cheap drones with advanced sensors and imaging capabilities are giving farmers new ways to increase yields and reduce crop damage.

Neuromorphic Chips

Microprocessors configured more like brains than traditional chips could soon make computers far more astute about what’s going on around them.

Micro scale 3-D Printing

Inks made from different types of materials, precisely applied, are greatly expanding the kinds of things that can be printed.

Agile RobotsComputer scientists have created machines that have the balance and agility to walk and run across rough and uneven terrain, making them far more useful in navigating human environments.

So, These are some examples of the things that is changing our world.

PREDICTION OF SOME OF THE TECHNOLOGICAL ADVANCEMENT

3/17/2015 18

Some future technological prediction.

Internet of DNA

A global network of millions of genomes could be medicine’s next great advance.

Availability: 1-2 years

Google Glasses

Google Glasses are a part of Project Glass, a research and development program by Google to develop an augmented reality head-mounted display (HMD). These products would display information in Smartphone-like format hands-free and could interact with the Internet via natural language voice commands. The prototype’s functionality and minimalist appearance has been compared to Steve Mann’s Eye Tap. The operating system software used in the glasses will be Google’s Android.

Leap Motion Leap Motion presents an entirely new way to interact with your

computers. Put simply, Leap Motion is more accurate than a mouse, as reliable as a keyboard and more sensitive than a touch screen. For the first time, you can control a computer in three

dimensions with your natural hand and finger movements.

Google’s Self-Driving Cars The Google driverless car is a project by Google that involves developing

technology for driverless cars. The project is currently being led by Google engineer Sebastian Thrun, director of the Stanford Artificial Intelligence Laboratory and co-inventor of Google Street View.

Bio Technology Bionic Hand controlled by brain signals. It does allow people without fingers to

have fully functional hands that can pick up and handle delicate objects. It is completely controlled by the brain and requires no surgery. Touch Bionics, the company the produces the Pro Digits hand, is able to install the hand complete with “living skin,” a plastic covering resembling human skin, for under $50,000. A small price to pay for a new hand I think.

SO, These are some of advancement in technologies that we may see in near future.

Computer was introduced in Nepal in the year 1972 only. It was introduced by His Majesty's government for the population census of 1972(2028 B.S.) This was the second generation computer of IBM company called IBM 1401. The government had paid Rs 125000 per month as rent for this computer

ICT Strategy in Nepal

Mission and Vision. Government has vision of t he smart and developed community though now running with the transitional period. Among various plan s, programs, and initiatives conceived to overcome these challenges, development of IC Ts is looked upon with great hopes to materialize the country’s dream. Government has developed the e-Government Master Plan in 2006 with the mission of providing the value added services such as citizen-centered services, transparent services, and networked government and ultimately creates a knowledge-based society. To achieve the goal, the concerned authorities mobilized the resources to equip country with ICT and make ICT sector as one of the key contributor of G DP considering it as a growth engine. Through this, it will establish the knowledge-based society.
