IMMACULATE CONCEPTION SCHOOL OF PEN ARGYL Serving the parishes of Saint Elizabeth’s of Pen Argyl and Saint Rocco’s of Martin’s Creek Spiritual Life: l Preparation for the reception of the Sacraments of Reconciliation, Holy Communion and Confirmation l Daily prayers and Pledge of Allegiance as a school community l Weekly student Mass l Monthly Reconciliation l First Friday and First Saturday Devotions l Young Dominicans of the Immaculate Mother gather in prayer twice weekly l Spiritual Retreat Academics: l Middle States Accredited and in upper 90th National Percentile in the IOWA test of basic skills l Staffed by five Sisters of the Dominican Daughters of the Immaculate Mother and four devout Catholic lay teachers l Curriculum includes: religion, reading, mathematics, language arts, foreign languages, creative writing, social studies, physical education, art, computer technology, music enrichment, writing enrichment and library skills l Remedial instruction, speech therapy, dental and health services are provided by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania l Free Tutorial Services l Offers Italian and Spanish foreign languages Facilities: l Air-conditioned classrooms, smart boards and computers in the classrooms l State-of-the-art networked computer lab equipped with twenty-two PC compatible workstations l Gymnasium/auditorium where an after school program is offered until 6pm l Cafeteria that offers a hot-lunch program with homemade meals and a milk/juice program l Library l Nurse’s office
