MEETING NOTES:
Treasurer's Report: Mike Hickman
o We're making money on all of our fundraisers.. $112,000 is our balance. We'll end up putting some more money
in our DIAL account to add to it.o Race for Education-we've taken in $48,000.o We have $78,000 9f profit from all fund raising activity to date.
From Mrs. Beeks: The new ice cream freezer had a puddle under itduring Christmas. [t was reported to the parish office. All the ice creamspoiled. Not sure how it happened. The plug was unplugged. Thefreezer IS working. It was $ZAZ worth of spoiled ice cream.
Geoff would like us to consider making the PTO Treasurer a paidposition. This would be a Charter change. We would then have to addanother vote because we can not have a paid position vote on the board.Maybe the overall Grade Rep could have a voting position. This issomething for us to decide at the next meeting.
General Membership Meeting Speaker:Do we want to have Bob
Ways and Means Report: |oe BurY
. There are 4A Spirit Mugs left.o foe would like to meet with Mrs. Beeks to put together the plan he
started.
Teacher's Representative Report: Sandy Barrick
The teachers asked Sandy to please let the PTO know thank you, thankyou for all your support--for the bonuses and for the pre-Christmassupport. Thank you for all you do.
Principal's Report Mrs. Beeks
Thank you to the PTO for the Christmas bonus. tt is very generous andit means a lot to us.
Volunteer Survey:Tracey Pilone has designed a volunteer survey. Mrs. Beeks asks the PTOto send feedback to Tracey.
Grade Reps-some of these jobs do not have to be run by the GradeReps such as the Sock Hop or the Fall Festival. It is not impossible to askone or two grade levels to do some of these events. The Sock Hop andthe Fall Festival should be run by 2 grade levels relieving the Grade Repof these jobs.
Wish List:The Wish List has not been given to Mrs. Lent-Tucker yet. Her father isill. Mrs. Beeks has been holding on to it and has been thinking of the giftcard idea. She has asked Sally
say yes, her next call willbe to Mary Fedorochko to see if we can make a deal. Then we can buyLakeshore or Barnes and Noble gift cards. She is working on it. If thisworks out, Mrs. Beeks thinks this will be a good idea to do the gift cardsinstead of purchasing the products individually.
Annual Fund:Mrs. Beeks went to the last Diocesan meeting and discussed the AnnualFund. It is a development program, which done right can be verysuccessful. You send a card out every year asking for prayers, time, talent or treasure. You appeal beyond the school-to the parish, alumniand businesses. Schools that have done this and made it become acultural of the school have done well.
Renovations:The big ticket items we are looking at are windows in the gym and theschool. It will be very expensive. They will have to be a specific kind.
Mrs. Beeks sent a proposal to Fr. Kevin to replace the bathroom stalls.
Mrs. Beeks would like to get carpeting out of the middle school halls andput tile down. That comes out of the Capitol Fund but she might needsome help with that.
One idea is to auction off a classroom-find out how much it would costto replace everything in the classroom. That person would renovate theroom and a plaque in their honor would be in that room forever.Estimate is about $5,000. There are 18 rooms.
'\--- 2077Mrs. Beeks said she received a lot of good information from the facultymeeting for ideas for 201,1,.
Lab LearnersThe diocese has approved this program. It is a K-gth grade programwhere they come in and renovate a room and it changes the curriculumcompletely. It's about $75,000 for this program. After that about$10 a student per year. Mrs. Beeks is looking into this program.
Closing Prayer: Geoff Bacino
Meeting adjourned: B:50pm.
