Masters and above level art therapy degrees with national credentials have national portability.

The industry segments of community & social services, education, health care are three of the most promising sectors for growth for the next 7 years

The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) Health Care Reform Act means more health services will be available to more people.

“Health care support personnel” is identified as one of the highest growth fields with an expansion rate of 28.8% over the next 7 years.

Grow a diverse, professional network of art therapists and other health care professionals worldwide with a shared knowledge of the effectiveness of art therapy as a healing profession.

Build a well-known art therapy professional identity through which: art therapists are recognized and respected as effective health care professionals; art therapy is known as an effective research-based healing art; and art therapy is recognized as a health necessity.

Positively influence the ability of art therapists to build a rewarding career through outstanding education, research, career development, and networking opportunities.

Enroll as a Medicare and/or Medicaid provider. Generally, to enroll, providers must be state licensed to provide their permissible scope of services.

If you are not an “enrolled” provider, it’s important to work for an enrolled individual or group of health care providers, under which your services can be billed and reimbursed.

Be aware that state budgets and funding priorities directly impact Medicaid programs’ appropriated funding levels.
