Miss Marilyn Guay, daughter of Mr. and,Mrs. Edgar Guay Jr„ will receive her diploma In professional nursing at com- mencement exercises for the CVPH Medical Center School of Nursing at 2 p.m. on June 2 in the Plattsburgh Senior High School Auditorium. Miss Guay was one of six members of her class who will be cited for attaining honors. Presentation of the diplomas will be made by Howard K. Read, executive director of the Medical Center. Bob Cox of the Peru Lions Club was one of the candidates for the title of "Mr. X." The Mr. X contest was held in conjunction with the CVPH Junior League of the CVPH Medical Center benefit variety show which was held on Friday and Saturday nights of last week at Hawkins Hali at Plattsburgh SUC. Miss Leslie Susan Rushford was a Friday night dinner guest of Miss Lynn Deiong of the Turnpike Ext., Peru. Melody Ann Stebbins, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jon R. ARTHUR REID Arthur Reid, 81, died Satur- day, May 12, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. He was born in ConitonvilJe on ' October 10, 1891 the sondf the' late Richard and Viola (Strong) Reid. He leaves a daughter, Mrs. Doris Guynup of Plattsburgh; two sons, Roger and Floyd Reid, both of Peru; four sisters, Alice Reid of Whitehall, Mrs. Ralph Tyreli of Peru, Mrs. Charles West of Peru and Mrs. Essa Blake of Biake Road, Peru; three brothers, Stanley Reid of Peru, Burt Reid of Peru and Halsey Reid of Plattsburgh. Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon at the Deiorme Funeral Home in Peru. The Rev. Kenneth Parker, pastor of the Peru Community Church, officiated. Bearers were Elmer Duprey, Bert Irwin, Clifford Duprey and Fred Chiappalone. Burial was in the Peru Cemetery with the Rev. Parker reading committal prayers. Annual Banquet The ladies of the Schuyler Falls and Morrisonville United WSCS enjoyed their annual banquet on Tuesday evening, May 15, at the Peasleeville Methodist Church Hall. About 55 members and guests attended a delicious roast beef dinner which was put on by the Peasleeville Ladies WSCS group. The program was under the charge of Mrs. Louise Baiiy, president of the Schuyler Falls Women's Society. A very in- teresting talk and colored slides were shown by Maureen Delvin, who has been living in Peru with the McNicholas family and attending Peru Central School for the 1972-73 school year. Miss Delvin is an American Field Exchange student here from South Africa. She will be returning to her home in South Africa early in July upon graduating with the Peru Central graduates in June.
