JUNE IKO MEETING

The last IKO meeting was held on June 11, 2011. As always,it was graciously hosted by Virginia King in Warsaw, IN. Wehad eight members present and four guests.

In the business portion of the meeting IKO President DaveGossett discussed the upcoming October meeting inEnglewood, OH. The location will be about 2 miles fromwhere we held the show many years ago in Englewood. Davepromised to have the bourse applications in the mail shortly.

Dave reminded members to get their tokens to Terry Stahurskifor the auction portion of the October show. Terry always putstogether a wonderful auction, but can’t do it without help fromall of us.

We continue to look for a new Secretary. Jack Siles has heldthis office since 2004 and is looking to reduce his work load. Are you able to make the commitment to help IKO? Please letDave know if you are interested.

As a side note, Jack Siles has temporarily moved. If you needto get in touch with Jack, please call Dave for Jack’s currentaddress.

The highlight of the meeting was the discussion of JerrySchaeper’s contributions to IKO and his nomination for LifeMembership. Jerry’s contributions through the years hasgreatly improved IKO as a whole. See page 25 for moreinformation.

Vice President Ron Vore is coordinating the publicity for theOctober show. He will be contacting many token groups andindividuals to promote the event.

Lastly, it was reported that IKO member Jack Smith is homerecovering from lung cancer surgery. While full recovery willtake some time, Jack says he is getting around better and hasmade a few trips out of his house recently. We all hope to seeJack back on the token circuit soon.
