… in Industry 4.0, where IT meets OT and there are different standards in vertical as well as in horizontal so usage of standard alone does not guarantee that systems can be interoperable.
If two systems using two different standards, they can not be “automagically” interoperable.
Therefore, framework could be (better are) helpful: see JTC/1 SC41 current projects “IoT RA”, “IoT Interoperability Framework”
