MILESTONES TESTING OFFICE PROCEDURES
Due to testing next week….we discourage any check-outs
(unless it is due to illness) for students in grades 3 – 5. If
you DO check-in your student on a testing day – they will
be asked to stay up in the office until there is a break in
testing or testing is complete. There will be no students
allowed in or out of our testing rooms, during active test
taking. IF you have a student in grades K – 2 you may check
them out or in, but will also experience a delay. Every
student will need to be escorted to and from the classroom
by a staff member due to testing.
Thank you for your cooperation during our testing days

booth to sell a product or service, please contact us! Due to
the rescheduled date – we will no longer be having our musical

GEORGIA MILESTONES GRADES 3 – 5
*We will be testing on the following dates from about 7:50am-
12:00pm. We ask that if you have already scheduled
appointments, to please try to reschedule so students are present
for testing. We also ask that students arrive on time each day
with a good night’s rest and a nutritious breakfast, and refrain
from early check-outs. *We will also not be allowing any
volunteers or visitors (including lunch) on testing days so that we
can provide a safe, secure, and quiet testing environment. We
also ask that students not bring their technology/devices to
school during these testing days.

MAKE-UPS
Dear Parents,
In early May we will be beginning some preliminary work on next year’s class lists. We use a wide variety of
sources to create class lists including a variety of data, teacher input, and parent thoughts. If you have thoughts
that you would like to share, please email them to [email protected] and place the student name and the
rising grade level in the subject line.
For instance: Lily Black 3rd
grade for 15-16
It is helpful if your remarks are succinct, (one paragraph or two) and do not contain any teacher or student names
since we do not honor friend coupling requests, named teacher requests, or sibling requests. Descriptions of
learning environment attributes and personality attributes on the part of your child are what serve this purpose
best.
You may certainly share if you have twins, if you would like them in the same class. If we don’t get a letter
around twins, we typically place them in different classes.
The deadline for receiving this input via email only, please do not send in hard copies, at the school is May 8th
.
Thank you!
Your Principal and Partner,
Sherri
CAR RIDER NOTES:
With the spring weather – now would be a perfect time to have your
children start riding the bus in the mornings! We have so many AM car
riders and, with the volume, many of our students are arriving after the bell
– making them tardy. With Milestone testing approaching - it is critical to
have your child here on time and ready to begin their day at 7:40am. The
best way to ensure that is to have them ride the bus or to be in car rider
line by 7:15am.
Also, you should NEVER let your child walk in the parking lot by
themselves. Either drop them at the curb or park and walk them to the
crosswalk. For safety reasons, these are the only options.
Due to a recall of all products manufactured by Blue Bell Creameries, we have pulled all of their ice cream products from our freezers and will discontinue sales for the rest of this school year. You or your child will be receiving a refund for ice creams ordered for this past week. Should you have further questions regarding the recall, please contact Blue Bell Creameries directly.

school, or visit www.mypaymentsplus.com, to make a payment

Artists of the Month
Congratulations to Kayleigh Appenfelder in Ms. Upchurch’s class and Aditya Rotte in Mrs. Guthrie’s class!
Family Promise is a program that helps children who do not have a permanent place to live. Their families may have been forced to
move in with friends or relatives, or they may be living in a motel or a tent. These children do not have a home of their own, and may
not even have a bed of their own. Our goal is to help these homeless children and their families find a home of their own.
You can help by showing people how a homeless child might feel. We are looking for a picture that would show how a child might
feel if he or she did not have his or her own home. The winning entry will be used as the artwork on donation boxes in local
businesses that help to support Family Promise.
One child drew this picture to show how she would feel.
Show us how you would feel!
Create an entry about how you would feel if you were homeless.
Please create your art on standard copy/printer paper. (8 ½” X 11”). You may use crayons, marker, colored pencils, oil pastels.
Turn in your entries to your art teacher by April 29th
.
Make sure to write your first and last name, homeroom teacher, grade and school on the back of your entry.
We will pick the best entry and announce the winner by May 4th
. The top winner will receive a $25.00 gift certificate for Bruster’s Ice
Cream. However, 10 Honorable Mentions will also be chosen and awarded a $10 gift card for Bruster’s.
