    THE SPARK OF RELIABILITY,THE SMITSVONK IGNITION PRINCIPLE

    A low tension high energy ignition system meets the requirements ofreliable ignition for many industrial applications.

    The system is based upon the principle of a capacitor discharge overa special discharge surface. This surface is an isolator with semi-conductor properties. The isolator and the positive and negativeelectrodes are integrated to a high temperature resistant spark plug.When a charged capacitor is connected to the spark plug, it will bedischarged via the sparkplug producing sparks, even under wet orfilthy circumstances.

    Moisture, dirt, oil and grease will not disturb the ignition

    Not limited for cable length

    Low power consumption

    Insensitive for process pressure

    Self cleaning spark plug surface, due to flame shaped spark

    Tension is low in comparison to traditional ignition sources

    Easy construction for explosion proof execution

    Ground and elevated flares

    Industrial furnaces and boilers

    Pulverized coal fired power plants

    Portable ignitors

    Waste incinerators

    Gas engines/turbines

    The system comprises:

    A power pack with capacitor

    of alternating capacity;

    Control electronics for an infinitely

    variable pulse frequency;

    A thyristor;

    A cable of variable length;

    Smitsvonk lowtension spark plug.
