is set in a mythical “once upon a time” sort of

land. This is the story of a hulking green ogre

who makes his home in a dreary green swamp to

exist in happy isolation. His peace is disrupted by

an annoying talking Donkey who wants to be

friends. An intruding gang of homeless fairy-tale characters raid his sanctuary, too, saying

they’ve been evicted by the vertically challenged Lord Farquaad. So Shrek strikes a deal: he’ll

get their homes back, if they leave his swamp! But when Shrek and Farquaad meet, the Lord

strikes a deal of his own: He’ll give the fairy-tale characters their homes back, if Shrek rescues

Princess Fiona. Shrek agrees. He finds Fiona appealing, though, somehow strange and different.

He likes her. A lot. -But why does she always hide when the sun sets?

Meet the Cast of SHREK the Musical

Dan Zajac (Shrek) from East Freetown is making his FTG debut in this exciting production. Dan studies

English/Secondary Education and Theatre at Bridgewater State University. Notable roles include Joseph in Joseph

and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (Apponequet Players 2015), Shrek in Shrek the Musical (YMTC-Fall River

2014), Gaston in Beauty and the Beast (YMTC-Fall River 2014), Jimmy in Thoroughly Modern Millie (Freetown-

Lakeville Drama Program 2011); and Grandpa Joe Willy Wonka (Freetown-Lakeville Drama Program 2009). Dan

would like to thank the cast and crew for welcoming him to FTG. It has been a pleasure to work with such incredibly

talented people.

Jodi Edwards (Princess Fiona) is a Cape Cod native and a graduate of Westfield State University with a bachelor’s

degree in classical vocal performance as well as a minor in music history. In addition to theater, Jodi is a member of

Cape Cod’s own Brazen Belles Burlesque Troupe: recent winners of the 2015 Las Vegas Burlesque Festival! At

Highfield Theatre, Jodi recently played Hansel in Hansel and Gretel and Inga in Young Frankenstein. Other favorite

roles include Marian in The Music Man, Maria in The Sound of Music, and Lucy in Menotti’s The Telephone. “I am

beyond honored to be working with such kind, funny, and talented people and it has been a pleasure getting to know

everyone! Humble thanks and so much love to my wonderfully caring and accommodating family and “theatre family,”

my unbelievably patient and supportive Belles, and of course my very own ogre who loves me just as I am: Peter!

This is our story, Sweet P!”

Keirnon (KJ) McDermott (Donkey) had his friends write this bio. He is a delightfully demented, gregarious,

energetic, versatile, committed actor who has been involved in many theatrical productions. He was last seen as

Nephew Fred, in FTG's A Christmas Carol and the Scarecrow in The Wizard of Oz. He has a passion for Marvel

comics, likes cheese, is fond of pirates, zombies, stout beer, grows facial hair very quickly and likes to play the

holophonor. He is also a cosplay enthusiast, with a great focus for detail in his costumes and makeup, going as far as

even shaving completely bald just for a costume. KJ loves tacos, and believe it or not ladies, this Pokemon Master is

single. Cowabunga!

Bobby Price (Lord Farquaad) has been a part of many shows at Cotuit Center for the Arts and Falmouth Theater

Guild. He was most recently seen as Professor Marvel/The Wizard in FTG's The Wizard of Oz. Bobby is so grateful

to be a part of another amazing cast and crew! Big thanks to Tom Hoke for taking on the monumental task of teaching

me to sing the part, and to Joan Baird for this incredible opportunity.

Brett Baird (Pinocchio/Dancer/Knight) has two hobbies in life… theater and golf. He is grateful for the opportunities

FTG has provided to feed his passion for theater, both on and off stage, having appeared onstage in FTG’s The

Secret Garden, The Fantasticks, The Music Man, and Sweeney Todd, as well as designing sets for The Sound of

Music, The Fantasticks, The Music Man, Sweeney Todd, The Wizard of Oz, Hansel & Gretel, and Shrek, the musical!

Brett has also appeared locally in Noises Off and Art at Cotuit Center for the Arts. He serves FTG as Secretary to the

Board of Directors and as Technical Director. He would like to thank his wife, Joan, for all her love and support (even

during Tech Week!).

Jennifer Perrault (Gingy/Sugarplum Fairy/Dancer) has been blessed to grace the Highfield stage in numerous

productions since 2004. This is the first time she's been given the challenge of playing multiple personalities,

however! From attempting not to eat the gumdrop buttons of Gingy, to being landed in a swamp as a fairy, to going

gaga over Fiona as a dancing rat to keeping up decorum as a dancing Duloc with Farquaad, to helping Donkey make

Shrek get his groove on as a blind mouse to chirping competitions with Fiona, Jenn has had a riveting time in this

production. Jenn is also delighted to be sharing this old barn with her guy, Steve in the pit and his son Kyle, who's on

percussion.

Madeline Marasa (Dragon/Three Pigs/Dancer) is from Mashpee and has been performing all over the Cape since

she was very young. She attended Drew University for Theatre Arts, Music, and Vocal Performance. There she also

earned her Master's Degree in Theatre Arts Education. Currently she works at the Loft and Cape Cod Collaborative

and she is working on a Master's in Applied Behavioral Analysis. Madeline is so thrilled to be in Shrek the Musical and

working with all these fantastic performers. She'd like to thank everyone involved in the production for their endless

hours of hard work and dedication, as well as Carol and Jake for their continuous love and support.

Peter Cook (Papa Ogre/Papa Bear/Dancer/Knight) is pleased to once again be on the Highfield stage, having

recently been seen on stage in A Christmas Carol as Ebeneezer Scrooge. He has also performed as the titular

characters of Sweeney Todd, Jekyll & Hyde and The Music Man, as well as King Arthur in Camelot, Henry Higgins in

My Fair Lady, and Thenardier in Les Miz. Other FTG shows have included Hansel & Gretel, Pippin, Oliver!, The

Secret Garden, Jesus Christ Superstar, and Young Frankenstein. In his real life, Peter resides in Falmouth and works

as a computer programmer for MEDITECH in Fall River. He can also be seen locally playing trumpet and singing for

Stage Door Canteen.
