I know that love is just for people,But what about the microscopic world?

Do atoms meet and fall in love, Just like a boy and a girl?

If it isn’t love, what’s going one?

How do atoms forma bond?

Why do they stick together?

How do they hold on?

Sodium and chlorine, form salt—or have you heard?

When they get together, electrons are transferred

Ions are produced,And opposites attract,

Ionic bonds are formed,And that’s a fact.

Now some atoms get together,And they like to share,

Two nuclei mutually,Attract an electron pair.This hold the two together,

And in terms of chemistry,

We like to say they’re bonded, Covalently.

There are lots of different kinds of bonds,

Holding atoms in our world.

It’s just like all the different ways,That a boy’s attracted to a girl..

But it’s not like love,Not nearly so dramatic. It’s not so emotional,It’s just electrostatic
