Snowboarding is by far my
favorite winter activity. The
mountains free up my mind
and bring me peace and a
feeling of freedom.
I love downhill and the feeling to float through the air after hitting jumps, to make quick turns and definitely to have many obstacles to
overcome. Is also a perfect time to reflect about the challenges and obstacles
usually faced in a professional life.
Since my arrival in Switzerland I knew that I had to find another sport to replace all my sunny surfing days left behind in Brazil…
When the first winter season came by, I was ready to face the Swiss slopes…
As a good beginner, I could do a couple nice tricks, although very simple but one day I decided to go down through the snow park and tried a backside rodeo flip.I still remember the feeling I had before riding up the jump. I was so scared and repeating to myself that I could do it.
But snowboarding does not require the exact same surfing skills. So, took me time and perseverance to proper transfer my skills from
Surfing to Snowboarding.
And I did it...
Definitely I will remember this day for the
rest of my life as the best
snowboarding day I ever had.
And improving it every
season. I knew it was
not about being
good, it was all
about having the
guts to push the
limits. Was amazing
to share this moment
with friends
afterwards.
…and kept doing it.
Almost seven years after my
arrival in Switzerland, here I´m
married with my Swiss wife and
of course addicted to
snowboarding
No doubt she
is from the Swiss Alps….
So, how
snowboarding
can contribute
to my personal
and
professional
life?
It supports me to
embrace and
overcome my
fears, then turn it
into confidence.
Snowboarding has teached me that going too cautiously will actually make me crash more.
I will never
improve myself by
just being sit up
there in the
mountains.
Is crucial to push myself and if I´m going to crash, is part of the journey, and the more I do…the better I will get up and go forward
Do not turn
around when
things get tough,
but face my
obstacles and go
down the hill.
It brings me much more experience, faster skills development
It helps me to
focus on where
I want to go
and concentrate
to make it
happen.
To look over the side at where I don’t want to go, certainly will make me fall down.
And of
course,
enjoy the
journey and
do my best
every day!!!
And of course, always enjoy the journey
and do
my best every day!!!
