Why do we need green IT?
Cities contribute to 70% of the world’s greenhouse gases (GHG), where +50% World Population lives.

Can save up to €600 billion & decrease 15% of carbon emissions in 2020 by becoming energy efficient (The Climate
Group).
Accounts for 8-10% of the EU’s electricity consumption and up to 4% of its carbon emissions.
SMARTER CITIES ARE KEY FACTORS IN THE FIGHT AGAINST CLIMATE CHANGE, ACHIEVE COST SAVINGS & MAKING ICT SECTOR MORE SUSTAINABLE!
If 100 of the world’s largest cities embark on a low-carbon development path, global GHG could decreased around 10 percent a year (World Bank).
