Do’s: Make candidate feel comfortable while taking the interview. You are representing IBM during the interview and hence make sure you are professional and gracious. Candidates should be treated equally coming from big or small companies. Interview should be minimum 15 minutes and maximum 30-35 minutes. It is prudent to do a screening for 10-

15 minutes first and not proceed further if candidate fails in screening. The screening should include validating CV with the employee and then asking candidate some initial questions on the tool etc. If candidate passes screening, then panel should probe further.

If you think candidate is fake, please inform Staffing/Hiring teams and SALs. Check for communication skills while asking tech questions. Do ask the candidate about his strong technical areas and start questioning him on the same, to find out his

skill level. Questions should be more based on projects or scenario-based Do fill Evaluation Sheet completely. Be as detailed as possible so that you can refer to it later if there are

follow-up queries. Evaluate candidate on all the skills. If he or she is strong in some areas and weak in some areas, make the

judgement call on whether the candidate will be able to perform on the job. Do fill Overall Rating. Do mention additional comments, both comments and rating should be in sync. Do mention your name, employee id and mobile number in the sheet clearly If any gap found in education or employment, mention in additional comment section. For project specific hires, if the candidate is not suitable for the project but overall good, please do

recommend for Pool hires instead of rejecting him. In case you have slight doubt about suitability, you can ask for re-interview. But intent should be to try to

close it out in the first round. When travelling for hiring, please make sure you check with Ameena or rest of Hiring team whether you are

within budget. You are not expected to communicate to candidate whether he/she is a select/reject You are not expected to answer any technical queries that the candidate may have
