value of wood thus preserved is now well recognized by railroad men The life of a railroad tic may be greatly lengthened and I sometimes more than doubled by I preservative treatment In a humid I chmate like that of Honduras a pine tie in its natural state would be quickly destroyed by fungus Large railroads of the United States treat with preservatives many or all of the new ties put in One the state who are indi- rectly connected with or interested in developments of a business character- are invited to attend the sessions of the Ocala meeting Referring to a more extended view of the
