Our College was established in 1998 and has experienced strong growth with a current student population of over 1200. Mission of North India was founded in 1972. With the creation of the Kolkata Diocese of the Orthodox Church in 1979, the activities of the St. Thomas Mission became more extensive spreading light of knowledge to the mankind.
The mission’s activities later spread out to cover Madhya Pradesh, Orissa, Bihar, West Bengal, Assam and Nagaland which include educational institutions, health service centers, bal grams, rehabilitation centers, village mission ashrams and convents.

DEPARTMENT OF ELECTRICAL ENGINEERINGThe Department of Electrical Engineering is one of the first four engineering departments of the institute that started in 1998. The department is running the B.E (Hons.) program in Electrical Engineering as well as Post graduate program in High Voltage Engineering. Throughout more than two decades of its journey, the department continues to stay focused on research, abreast with the latest development and diversifications in its various fields of study. During this period, while maintaining its traditional focus on Power and Machines, followed by Control and Instrumentation, the Department has been able to develop expertise in modern areas such as MEMS, Signal and Image Processing and Renewable Energy. The Department continues to participate in numerous R&D projects funded by governmental organizations such as MHRD, DST, DIT, DBT, DRDO, ISRO, CPRI, CDAC, ICMR, CSVTU( TEQIP-III) and industries such as SAIL, BHEL, Powergrid, Indian Rail, POSOCO etc.

DEPARTMENT OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERINGMechanical Engineering branch encompasses basic concepts related to machines, manufacturing processes, automation, controls and multi-disciplinary applications like mechatronics and robotics. The branch is a combination of largely the following verticals: thermodynamics, mechanics, systems and control and manufacturing.
The department of Mechanical engineering in CCET was established in the year 1998 with an intake of 60 and later increased up to 120 in 2008. The department has well equipped laboratories as per university norms with an emphasis on practical approach and skills for outcome based learning. The department has well qualified and dedicated faculty.
A student chapter of Mechanical engineering has been formed by The Institution of Engineers (India) with an objective to interact and know about new areas of research and sophisticated smart technologies in industry.

The institute has a well maintained centralized fully air conditioned library to facilitate academic pursuits of the students and staff members. IQAC plays significant role in quality of evaluation of student's academic matters semester wise. Since quality enhancement is a continuous process, the IQAC is an integral part of the institution's system and work towards realizing the goals of quality enhancement and sustenance. The Research & Development cell of CCET aims at creating a conducive atmosphere for research work in the campus thereby elevating the standards and quality of our institution.
The R& D team works as facilitators in obtaining research grants from external funding agencies for projects, seminars, workshops etc and also provide all help in the successful execution of these activities. We also extend help to the interested researchers in identifying the key funding institutions pertaining to their field and in the preparation of project proposals. 2 Research projects sponsored by Chhattisgarh Council of Science & Technology have been completed and there are 5 on going projects sponsored by TEQIP III of CSVTU till date.
Life need not revolve around only academics and career. Every student is gifted with some talent and they nourish and nurture their talent for their all round development and to make their life meaningful. The Cultural club of CCET provides the perfect platform for the students to exhibit their talents.The Cultural club organises various cultural activities with an aim to mould the personality of students and provide exposure to them to a wide range of cultural events throughout the year. Our students hail from different parts of the country and this adds more variety and charm to the events. The students also take part in various inter collegiate and inter - state competitions and win laurels. Apart from participating in the multitude of events, students also organize the events. This gives them first hand experience in exhibiting their managerial skills. Also the college has its own music band. The college band provides an amazing opportunity for the young musicians and singers to exhibit their talent.

The Techno Club stems from a belief that our students are the sculptors of the New World. The club caters to encourage the scientific temper of the engineering students to put their innovations into a concrete form.

TECHNO CLUB
We have an effervescent NSS unit which provides a platform for students to take part in social and community work from time to time. The main objectives of our NSS unit is to develop among the students a sense of civic and social responsibility, understand the problems of the community in which they live and create awareness about several relevant issues.The different activities organized by the NSS unit of CCET include Cleanliness Drive, Matdata Jagrukta Program, Tree Plantation Program, Swachhata Pakhawada, Active Citizen Workshop, Dengue Awareness program, Road safety awareness program, International Yoga Day Celebrations etc.
NSS UNIT AT CCET
WOMEN'S CELLCCET has established a Women's Cell in the campus to enhance self esteem of young women and spread awareness about women empowerment. The activities of the cell include engaging students in promoting awareness relating to women in the present social context, providing information on health related matters, legal rights policies and counselling help. The Cell organises workshops and seminars regularly for the young women.
Some programmes organized by the Women's Cell of CCET include general health awareness programme, women empowerment program, self defense training program, general health check camp, visit to vriddhashram, awareness program on laws and acts, International Women's Day celebrations.

ANTI RAGGING COMMITTEEThe anti ragging committee of CCET looks in to matters that fall under the category of ragging. Ragging is strictly prohibited in the campus and strict disciplinary action would be taken against any student indulging in any kind of ragging.
An Anti-Sexual Harassment Cell is functional in the college as per the guidelines of AICTE and Supreme court. This cell takes care of any issue that falls under this category and ensures that no student or staff member falls prey to any kind of discrimination or harassment.

The departmental associations are very active in the College. They arrange regular invited talks by experts, seminars on selected topics where students present papers, technical quiz programmes and visits to industries.
Under each department of the College, a number of national / international level seminars, workshops and guest lectures programmes by expert group on emerging technology, personality development, communication skills, presentation skills and interview techniques are conducted to familiarize the students with the development in their fields and to prepare them for job interviews.
Fortnightly talks by academicians and industrial experts on various topics of new and emerging technologies, technology applications and current engineering practices are organised to enhance the knowledge of students and teachers.
Visits to major industrial units, research centres and software companies across the country are arranged in the second and fourth year to get the students acquainted with the practices in industry. Students are also encouraged to carry out sponsored projects guided by industries.
CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIESWhile cementing the sense of academic excellence, the college gives rich opportunities to the students to gain Communication Skills, Emotional Quotient and Intelligence Quotient, Organizational skills and Leadership qualities through co- curricular and extra-curricular activities.

CENTRAL COMPUTING FACILITIES CCET Computer Centre administers and manages the campus and hostel network of the college. A state-of-art fiber optics backbone exist which provides high speed network connectivity to the campus. More than 5 virtual network segments comprising of nearly 400 systems are connected through fiber optics cables.
The CCET Computer Centre offers world class computing facility to the CCET community. A 30 Mbps leased line Internet connection and 10 Mbps from NMECT offers unlimited access to Internet for the students and staff round the clock, for their educational and research needs. The CCET Computer Centre also functions as centre for various Government & Non- Government online examinations.
