Adopt a Platoon BIG THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO
DONATED TO OUR PLATOON! RECENTLY THEY RECEIVED OUR FOURTH CARE PACKAGE AND
SENT US THIS EMAIL IN RESPONSE!
SUBJECT: Saying Hey!
Hello Elks family!
Just wanted to say hello and happy holidays! We just got your newest care package and really appreciate it! The jerky and chapstick as always are appreciated! We are using the baby wipes like crazy also. Ya’ll are the only people besides family that are with us our whole deployment and we appreciate it. You asked what else we need- boot socks and baby wipes and any water or protein supplements are always in demand here.
Thank you to whomever donated all the gum. We chew it like crazy but when we are out on a mission we also give it to the local kids and they also love it. The little things count to the kids we interact with.
The Steeler fan on our team is still waving that dang towel in our faces and keeps it in Humvee constantly. We all keep threatening to use it to clean the Humvees. We appreciate the Lodge 776 golf towels you sent us. At the end of our deployment I will request permission for us all to take a picture with one in front of the base to send to you guys.
We will be gone through December 27 but will be back on base after that for New Years. So please hold off sending us anything that may be lost in the shuffle before then.
The magazines and puzzle books have been great and we go through them like crazy.
I have a few more emails to send but just wanted to drop a line to ya’ll so you don’t think we forgot about ya.
Again thank you for everything you do! Happy and safe holidays!
Matt
