II. STANDING COMMITTEE OF THE REGIONAL COMMITTEE
Present membership
5. When considering document EUR/RC43/Inf.Doc./1 and adopting resolution EUR/RC43/R6, the Regional Committee at its forty-third session recognized the importance of selecting members of the SCRC who not only have a high level of competence in and knowledge of public health but are also available for and committed to the work of the SCRC. It also agreed that there should be a balance among members in terms of individual qualities, skills, competence and experience, as well as equitable geographical distribution between larger and smaller countries.
6. It will be recalled that the terms of office of members from the Czech Republic, Ireland and Spain will expire at the fifty-first session of the Regional Committee.
