What is Hyperbole?

Using exaggeration to make a point!

Exaggeration = making something seem larger, better, worse, or more important than it really is..

Example: “I wouldn’t go to the movies with you if you were the last person on earth!”

Percy Examples“She (Mrs. Dodds) looked mean enough to ride

a Harley right into your locker.” (Ch1 p.4)

“The card was in fancy script, which was murder on my dyslexic eyes…” (Ch2, p.24)
