The
Appalachian Trail Work Weekend
coordinated by the RPH Cabin Volunteers
to be held July 11-13.
Various types of trail maintenance projects will be done that weekend in the vicinity of Miller Hill Road and Stormville Mountain Road in East Fishkill. Projects range from light gardening, bridge painting, light carpentry to heavy stone work creating a stone stairs at the trail entrance off Stormville Mtn Road. There is plenty of room for overnight camping at the RPH Cabin on Hortontown Road. Food is always a big item for this event and that weekend is a primary time for AT through hikers to pass through Dutchess County on their way North to Maine. Many hikers spend a day contributing to the work weekend projects and enjoy the food that is prepared at the RPH Cabin by the volunteers. Interested club members should contact Tim Messerich, [email protected] (845) 297-9573 OR Jim Gahn, [email protected] (845) 561-6376 to get full details. Website for RPH Cabin Volunteers is http://www.rphcabin.org.
