We cherish the opportunity to worship with all follow- ers of Jesus, and we regret the sad divisions within Christianity. Whether you are communing with us today or not, please join us (and Jesus!) in praying for truth and unity within His Church. This facility is equipped with a hearing assis- tance system. Welcome Guests! We are glad you are here! Here are a few things we thought you would like to know to help you feel at home with us today:

Please accept one of the green bags that you will find on your way out of the front entrance of the sanctuary as our gift to you.

Restrooms are located in the large room adja-cent to the sanctuary. Our ushers will be glad to point you in the proper direction.

Children are always welcome to worship with us and sincerely, that is what we prefer. However, for your convenience, a nursery is available for parents with children 3 years old and younger who might wish to use it. The nursery is staffed during the 9:15 Bible Study Hour & 10:45am service. Parents may use this room

during the 8:00am service as well, but the room will not be staffed by volunteers. An usher will be happy to help you find the nursery located in the Early Childhood’s Child Care Room.

The offering is an opportunity for our members to support the Lord’s work at Trinity. As our guest, we ask only that you sign our Friendship Pad as it is passed down the pew.

When we celebrate the Lord’s Supper, we do so convinced that Jesus gives us His true body and blood for the forgiveness of our sins. Receiving the Lord’s Supper here expresses not only fellow-ship with the Lord, but also agreement with the teachings of this congregation. Therefore com-municant members of LC-MS congregations are always welcome to commune with us, and other guests wishing to commune are kindly asked to

speak with the pastor before the service. We cherish the opportunity to worship with all follow-ers of Jesus, and we regret the sad divisions within Christianity. Whether you are communing with us today or not, please join us (and Jesus!) in praying for truth and unity within His Church.

This facility is equipped with a hearing assis-tance system. Please ask an usher for a receiv-er.

We would love to have your family join us for our Fellowship Hour and T3 that takes place Sunday mornings at 9:15a. Ask any of our members or the pastor and we will be happy to help you find your way and get settled in.

Trinity’s mission team invites all members of Trinity to join us on Sunday, March 1st in the Gathering Room for a potluck lunch for all the college students in our church’s community. Our first college student lunch was in No-vember, and we had several students join us, along with Trinity families. Several CUW students regularly attend our weekend services, and many of them are far from their homes. These lunches let them know they have a home away from home here at Trinity. Bring a hot dish, a salad, appetizer or dessert, and do not merely drop it off. We ask that you please JOIN THEM for lunch, sitting down with them and introducing (or reintroducing) yourselves to them. Please email, call or text Rick Adams at [email protected] / 414-801-6690 for more information or questions.

Prayer Before Worship: Heavenly Father, thank You for bringing me here to worship. Help me to listen as You speak to me through Your Word. Help me to honor You with my thoughts. Help me to glorify You with my words. In Jesus’ name, Amen. Old Testament Reading: Exodus 24:8-18 Moses then took the blood, sprinkled it on the people and said, "This is the blood of the covenant that the LORD has made with you in accordance with all these words." Moses and Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, and the seventy elders of Israel went up and saw the God of Israel. Under his feet was something like a pavement made of sap-phire, clear as the sky itself. But God did not raise his hand against these leaders of the Israelites; they saw God, and they ate and drank. The LORD said to Moses, "Come up to me on the mountain and stay here, and I will give you the tablets of stone, with the law and commands I have written for their instruction." Then Moses set out with Joshua his aide, and Moses went up on the mountain of God. He said to the elders, "Wait here for us until we come back to you. Aaron and Hur are with you, and anyone involved in a dispute can go to them." When Moses went up on the mountain, the cloud covered it, and the glory of the LORD settled on Mount Sinai. For six days the cloud covered the mountain, and on the seventh day the LORD called to Moses from within the cloud. To the Israelites the glory of the LORD looked like a consuming fire on top of the mountain. Then Moses entered the cloud as he went on up the mountain. And he stayed on the mountain forty days and forty nights.

P: How sweet are your words to my taste. C: Sweeter than honey to my mouth. Anthem: “This is My Beloved Son” (8:00) Trinity Mixed Choir

Epistle Reading: 2 Peter 1:16-21 We did not follow cleverly invented stories when we told you about the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty. For he received honor and glory from God the Father when the voice came to him from the Majestic Glory, saying, "This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased." We ourselves heard this voice that came from heaven when we were with him on the sacred mountain. And we have the word of the prophets made more certain, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts. Above all, you must under-stand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet's own interpreta-tion. For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit. P: How sweet are your words to my taste. C: Sweeter than honey to my mouth.

Gospel—Good News: Matthew 17:1-9 (Sermon Text) After six days Jesus took with him Peter, James and John the brother of James, and led them up a high mountain by themselves. There he was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and his clothes became as white as the light. Just then there appeared before them Moses and Elijah, talking with Jesus. Peter said to Jesus, "Lord, it is good for us to be here. If you wish, I will put up three shelters--one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah." While he was still speaking, a bright cloud enveloped them, and a voice from the cloud said, "This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased. Listen to him!" When the disciples heard this, they fell facedown to the ground, terrified. But Jesus came and touched them. "Get up," he said. "Don't be afraid." When they looked up, they saw no one except Jesus. As they were coming down the mountain, Jesus instructed them, "Don't tell anyone what you have seen, until the Son of Man has been raised from the dead."

P: The words I have spoken to you are Spirit and they are life. C: Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. (John 6: 63b, 68b)

FROM THE DESK OF Marlene Forshee Saying Goodbye to Alleluia—The Epiphany season of the church year ends this weekend with the celebration of Transfiguration. We have been nurtured through the seasons of Advent, Christmas and Epiphany and we now turn to the Lenten season where we look truthfully at ourselves, see our sin, and ask the Holy Spirit to lead us to repentance. As we celebrate the Transfiguration, we also say goodbye to Alleluia for a time. During the season of Lent, we do not speak or sing the Alleluias since they are joyful proclama-tions, and this a repentant time. Putting away the Alleluias is like putting a favorite “toy” away for a while. We can appreciate it better once it returns to us on Easter Sunday. At the end of our tra-ditional services this weekend, we will take down the Alleluia ban-ners and place them in a box to be removed from our sanctuary as a symbolic saying goodbye. These Alleluias will return on Easter Sunday as we joyously proclaim Alleluia! He is Risen!

Dear God, I don’t know all of the chal-lenges my friends have, but YOU know EVERYTHING. I hear their silence, YOU hear their prayers. I see their laughter, YOU see their tears. I see when they give, YOU see what’s been taken from them. I see their beautiful appearance, YOU see the scars in their souls. I experience their faith, YOU know their doubts. My prayer for them God is that YOU hear EVERY sin-gle prayer and MEET them at their need. In Jesus’ name. Amen. David & Rachel Baker, Rev. Charles &

FEBRUARY PRAYER TOPIC: Release of Anger & Bitterness

God, hear me and answer me. You know I am troubled by thoughts and feelings of anger, resentment and bitterness. You also know why. And You know how deep the hurt goes and how long I have lived with it. But I don’t want to live with it any longer. I don’t want to be an angry, resentful and bitter person. With Your help, I release my anger into Your hands. I surrender my resentment. I let go of my bitterness. Help me to keep letting go and release these toxic emotions as often as they try to return. Amen.
