April 29 BSU becomes a founding member of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association Women’s League.

November 19 BSU posts its first WCHA conference win, defeating Ohio State, 4-3, in the John Glas Fieldhouse.

2000Kerri McEwen (’03) sets BSU single-season record for goals (19) by a freshman.

2001 February 24 BSU defeats Minnesota State, 4-2, and completes a four-game season series sweep of the Mavericks – its first season sweep of a WCHA opponent.

November 10 BSU records its first point against Minnesota, garnering a 2-2 draw with the seventh-ranked Golden Gophers in Minneapolis. The draw extends BSU’s school-record unbeaten streak to eight games.

December 9 BSU records its first victory over Wisconsin, defeating the Badgers 5-1 in Madison.

2002February 3 BSU skates to a 3-3 draw at No. 3-ranked Minnesota-Duluth, and, in the process, becomes the first WCHA program to earn a point against Wisconsin, Minnesota and Minnesota-Duluth in the same season.

November 9 BSU ties No. 1-ranked Minnesota, 2-2, in Minneapolis.

2003January 11 Amber Fryklund (’03) becomes the first Beaver to reach 100 points for her career

with a goal in an eventual 3-3 draw against Minnesota State.

March 5 BSU and Ohio State play the longest game in WCHA playoff history, a 79:11 affair in a play-in game in Grand Forks, N.D. Ohio State won, 5-4.

Anik Cote (‘04) named WCHA Student-Athlete of the Year.

Lisa Peters (‘03) graduates as BSU’s career leader in goals, assists and points scored by a defenseman (35-52=87).Amber Fryklund (’03) graduates as BSU’s career

leader in goals (52) and points scored (122).

Bre Dedrickson (’03) departs as BSU’s career leader with 33 wins in goal.

2004Seven Beavers named to WCHA All-Academic Team.

2005Bemidji State women’s hockey earns a perfect score on initial NCAA Academic Progress Report.

2006February 24 Bemidji State beats St. Cloud State, 5-1, to extend its school-record winning streak to five; the Huskies ended the streak the next day.

May 26 Steve Sertich becomes the fourth head coach of the BSU program.

October 13 Steve Sertich records his first victory as BSU head coach, leading the Beavers to a 6-4 home ice win over St. Cloud State.

2007February 10 Kelly Hart (‘07) becomes the second Beaver to reach 100 career points; her 100th point came on a short-handed goal at No. 8. Minnesota.

Kelly Hart (‘07) graduates as BSU’s career leader in assists (67).

Emily Brookshaw (‘08) becomes the first Beaver goalie to win 10 games in a season.

2008Emily Brookshaw (‘08) becomes the first Beaver goaltender to record 1,000 saves in a season. Her 1,072 saves were

87 more than the previous record. Brookshaw graduates as BSU’s all-time leader in saves (3,075), goals-against average (2.98), save percentage (.911), games played in goal (110), minutes played (6,075) and shutouts (6).

2009Brooke Collins (‘09) graduates as

BSU’s all-time leader with 144 games played.

March 5 Zuzana Tomcikova was named Second-Team All-WCHA, the highest conference postseason honor won by a BSU women’s hockey player.

2010Bemidji State women’s hockey moves to its new home in the Bemidji Regional Events Center.

2011Bucky and the s rock the arena as they cheer on our team.

1998Bemidji State adds Division I women’s ice hockey as its 17th varsity sport.
